I visit Joanne in my neighborhood two or three times a month, and most times the clerk cannot find what I want have no clue what it is. I feel they should employ sales associate who knows something about sewing. I don't expect them to be professional, but they should have basic sewing knowledge. This just bother me to the point that I don't even ask for help anymore, just venting.

That would certainly be nice if all the sales associates at the fabic store had some sewing knowledge. But maybe the seamstresses don't want the job. Maybe Joanne would like nothing more than to have some knowledgable employees, but none apply for the position. Just a thought.

I was at JoAnn's a week ago getting fabric and trim and the spool of trim was by the foot and my pattern called for yardage. I am not good at "math in my head" and asked the cashier if there were enough feet to cover the yardage....and she had no idea how many feet were in a yard...At least I knew that much!!!!
I think their associates are like those everywhere these days, they are not going to put anymore into their job then they have too! They are there for the pay check and have an attitude of 'they don't pay me enough to learn all this'.
Thanks for the vent cause I usually leave Joann's venting about something! Once I had to tell the cutting clerk HOW to cut the material!!!!! She said "well I haven't cut this type of fabric before!
