terrible twos

This is toddlerhood. Those characteristics are expected in their growth and development. The best way here is to provide them with finger foods that are safe and not prone to get swallowed as a whole. You should also leave them alone when they do their tantrums, trying to pacify them or give them more attention will give them the power. Make sure they have enough sleep at night as they will tend to be crankier when they lack sleep.
