Here we say sometimes say that we must work just for stomach, i mean we spent a lot of money for food, maybe is specific for people from my country to like to eat very good...all time in supermarket people buy a lot of food....sometimes i ask myself how people like to eat so much?
I like to go to shopping one time in one week and i take only what i need, i am not a person who like to eat to much, and i like to buy only what i need.
I don t like to live for eating, i like to eat for living.

I spend an about $300 per month for food. With dogs food, maybe $400...
It is not even, every month is different, I probably spend less during the Summer, because I am vegetarian...

Until last year I had two part time jobs and always had enough money to buy food, pay bills, live, go out and enjoy myself with no debt. I was then made redundant from one of the jobs and quickly had to make some changes.
I decided to set myself a budge of £100 which covers food, drink and toilettries. If any item of food etc is shared between me and my boyfriend he then pays for half of it. He has his own budget too, although his is buy it if you want it and no set limit.
I've never spent all of my budget in one month so whatever is left at the end of the month I save in a jar for treats etc. It's a great way to save but it is not a guaranteed amount each month.
I often go shopping when food has been reduced due to the date and then put it in the freezer. I buy a lot of own brand foods and use things sparingly.
Luckly the job I was left with looked after me and gave me some more hours although they have now been cut, but I'm not too worried as I know I will be able to still feed myself and have a treat here and there.

I have only 2members in the family, I think we spent at least 250 bucks for food every month, it sounds like a lot to me for only 2 people house family. It is because I like to cook and even though ewverytime when we go to the grocery store, I mark dopwn what I want, but I always end yp grabbing more stuff that's why it gets so expensive.

I'm a broke college kid, so I probably spend about 100 bucks a month. I actually spend more on fast food and eating out then buying from the grocery store. But my dad just bought me tons of groceries when he came to visit so I won't have to eat out! Yay. Now I just have to kick the habit of eating at work!

Yes even I am a college student from India and I do not have much money to spend for food. I usually have the food at fast foods as it is tasty and quite cheap. I spend around Rs.50 per day ( around USD 1) for food. I do not have much more money in my account to spend daily for food. Its a rare occassion for me to goto hotels and other restaurants for food as they are quite costly according to my standards and I cannot afford that much amount on a daily basisi. Moreover, as a Vegetarian my food budget gets very low and hence I am able to survive by spending such a small amount for my food.

how much money u spend on food what u eat . it doesnt matter how much u spend . it only matters the quality and quantity of food . nothing we got to do with money . but it matters when we come for food . so dont see for money just see for food .

Recently in India, food has become really really expensive. Just the other day I was doing a calculation and it works out like the prices of most essential food commodities have double in the past couple of years. And this as I said are the essentials, absolutely necessary for a normal middle-class household to survive…I am not even thinking of supermarket extras. Well, taking into account all this, I spend around Rs. 5000/- per month (approx USD 100) for my family of three. I have a 10yr old son, so cant really compromise.

I do not count the exact amount. But roughly is 500 a month, properly less than that.
In previous time, when inflation 0 time, can even use less than that amount for food. It is impossible now.

I am not so sure but I think four thousand pesos. I have a toddler so her milk is included there already. She consumes four cans of milk a month. So most of the money goes there.
Happy my lotting to you!!!

When I had a job before I spend around $200 just to eat out or for snacks in the house. I do not need to buy food for the house since I am currently living with my in-laws. We always eat out or buy something to eat because my son usually likes to eat all sort of food. But paying that much is a little high for the money I get for a month.

I think I spend about 600 just for 4 but one is a one year old. When I have people over it will be more way more the good thing is that they do not stay that long. I do like for them to stay with me for a month or two but after that it get really expensive to have them visit.

we need to eat food everyday. In our country from our earnings. The big portion of our budget will be in food. The reason why food got the big portion in our budget is the price of food here in our country is so expensive. especially when you are only earning with a minimum salary may be sometimes your salary is not enough for food budget.

Same as I, usually, i just but the things i need, but maybe some people relieve their feeling through food. One of my colleague says when she is in bad mood, she always but may food to eat, through this way she will feel better,at my point it's strange to do that, but to some people, they like that it. So what do you think of it? eat for living or live for eating.

My husband and I went shopping for food yesterday, and we spent $199. We have enough food to last for a month, at which point we'll go back to the store and spend around $200, once again. That's our monthly food budget, and it works well for the two of us. We know where the sales are, and we are able to get a lot for our $200.
