We Are Not A Christian Nation

President Obama is the first U.S president I have ever seen say that America is not a Christian nation. Yet he goes to the Middle east and says that America is one of the most populous nations filled with Muslims. We have less than 4 million Muslims in America. Many of them living in the metro Detroit area. We have more Christians in American than we do Muslim. Did anyone think to tell President Obama that, or did he know or was he just kissing the butts of the royal families in the Middle east? The American nation is very influenced by Judaeo–Christian values. Most of the people who came to America were Christian, not Muslim before 1776. They worshiped God, creator of man and believed in the Ten Commandments. But we are not a Christian nation. You take a look at our laws, and they reflect classical Greco-Roman civilization because both of these civilizations were accomplished and had a profound influence on antiquity such as law, philosophy and science. The written words on paper do not actually stress that America officially is a Christian nation, but he should have paid his respects in stating that many Christians live in America and are very tolerant of others, especially Muslims.

America is not a christian nation. In fact America was formed on believes of separation of church from government. Therefore not only is America not a christian nation it is not a muslim nation, a hindu nation, or a buddhist nation. The government is prohibited from support of any religion for any reason.

America is by majority a Christian nation. One which has those other religions in it. The Separation of Church and State was protection against religious extremism. The Founding Fathers most - likely saw the dangers of religious extremism and how it was connected with the birth of the American national history. But because we have Separation between the church and state (no state sponsorship of religion), that does not in any way negate from the fact that a non Christian religion can not come into violent conflict with the Christian religion.

Yes, a majority of the population is probably christian but the nation itself promotes no religion. I will not continue to argue this with you. Do some research into the establishment clause and the free excercise clause and you will understand what he and I were trying to say.
