Apparently, it's just okey dokey for old white hateful men to go on shooting sprees in America. This happened hours ago and NOT ONE SINGLE POST has addressed it. This weenie was openly anti-semetic, he also had a history of advocating violence against anyone who was not (A) white or (B) christian, although he was not discriminatory when opening fire on unarmed men, women and children at the National Holocaust museum in Washington DC.
Hope his wounds he received fester and burst in agonizing pain, yet he lives. Karmic retribution, I say.
If only we could purge this world of ALL (not just the american ones) lunatics of this nature....

Well not all of us spend 24/7 in front of our computers on mylot posting news as it comes across the wires. sorry, I do have some semblence of a life, such as it is, and it doesn't revolve around the mylot universe, but either way, I fail to see how that equates with it being "okey dokey for old white hateful men to go on shooting sprees in America"
Ok, yes, lets address this whole incident shall we?
What we have:
An 89 year old suspect, probably senile, WWII vet, racist, formerly convicted of a similar crime (and he wasn't watched why??) shoots guard at hollocost museum.
What it means:
He was a nut. A hatefull, old, nut. It was a hatefull act, not the first, certainly not going to be the last.
what it shouldn't mean:
The passing of even more laws, the identification of individual nuts by their social ideology left or right, endless threads about right/left wing terrorists, us turning against each other as we have been programed to do when bad things happen.

LOL, I know one person on here that spews everything that she sees on a certain cable news program that is based toward a certain political group. Do you know who I am talking about X?
I am very confused by your post X, you ask the question why this man wasn't watched (which is an interesting question, but probably would violate the constitution). But, then you say that we shouldn't pass more laws to identify this man, and stop him from doing this again, and we shouldn't worry about the people that he is talking to, or influencing. A little help here X.

I agree with you - 95%! (The other 5% is a tad bit hesitant - hey, I have to dissect everything (every little word and intention - and I don't have time for that) if I'm going to agree 100%. =P
"It was a hateful act, not the first, certainly not going to be the last."
P.S. I'm not white and most definitely not a man! And yes I embrace diversity. The reason why I didn't make a big deal out of this is that because I'm a minority - and as a minority, I'm AWARE of hate crimes happening everyday, everywhere. And most of them are EXTREMELY subtle. And I'd rather focus on the subtle ones because I believe they're the ones that will affect us most, as a society.

The way I understand X's statement -
He's wondering why this man is not being "watched" because he's been convicted of a similar crime before ( and add senile to that!). Therefore, there should be some wariness when he's around minorities.
He also said that there shouldn't be a law that would identify "INDIVIDUAL nuts BASED ON THEIR IDEOLOGY, left or right."
You see the difference yet?

I can't believe this story, i was busy all day today and yesterday because summer classes started but i looked it up on the internet just now after reading your topic,,,this is so horrible and sad,,,,I wish I had seen a post on mylot about it before hand because i didn't post because i didn't watch TV yesterday or today at all and didn't look at news websites :( the fact that he is elderly makes no difference to me, he was anti-semetic already so he knew what he was doing and if he lives through his wounds, then he deserves jail

The most active angry posters here are also Old White Hateful Men and, if not anti-semetic, they are at least very, very, very Pro-Christian!
The rest of us are in mourning and don't have anything to say about this stupid person's stupid move.

I can think of some angry old White people on here that are very, very, very Pro-Christian. I am not going to say they are, or are not anti-semetic, but they are very angry. I am sure everyone reading this, can pick out a person on here that meets my discription.

And the where are any posts which address a Black Muslim who also hates Jews as much as Whites who killed U.S Army servicemen who were recruiters?
Lunatics will be here forever and the world will never be purged of them until we get rid of this thing called emotions.

When ever there is a topic that could be considered the fault of both political parties, or that is A political, the people on here don't know how to react. Solving this problem is not as simple as it sounds, the constitution allows for free speech, and the right to assemble. Groups like this present even more problems because many times they hide behind religion, so when they are attacked they claim religious persecution. Hate groups like this need to be eliminated, but if you take the constitutional rights away from one group then why can't you from another? This is the beauty of living in the United States.

What do you want? I didn't see a whole lot of posts go up about the Muslim that attacked and killed a solider, either, but I'm sure people eventually got around to talking about it.
Unfortunately, these events are common. There's a guy or gal who kills someone every single day in America. It's just how it is. Because of the particular details of the case, it presents itself as newsworthy. But if myLotters don't jump on it instantly, can you really hold that against them?
I'm not really sure what people are supposed to do. Criticize this man? Done! Attack white male Christians? WWII vets? 89-year-olds? Lifelong bigots who finally snap once they've lived more than a decade past life expectancy?
I'm all for getting rid of the crazies -- but nobody's really crazy until they're crazy. There's a lot of ways you can view this in hindsight, but ultimately, a man who's 89 will be viewed as harmless 99.9% of the time, and 9,999 out of 10,000 times, they end up being harmless. Maybe some demented ramblings, but it rarely goes this far when we're talking about people who have both feet in the grave waiting for the dirt.
Ironically enough, the "side" that the news tosses him in (right-wing) is the "side" that does more to have lunatics suffer stricter penalties. It's that other "side" (left-wing) that would sympathize with the plight of a criminal, and assume aging brings reformation. This makes me think that the outrage of sympathizers is really just embarrassment for thinking that criminals are victims.

Surprise, surprise, another anti-semite steps out of the woodwork and tries to kill because of his intolerance. Of course, government officials will vehemently condemn his actions publicly, all the while playing footsie under the table with other Israel-hating holocaust deniers. Somebody would have eventually posted on the story after they had time to watch the news and turn on the computer. I don't think anyone was approving of the guy's actions by their silence on MyLot.

its ganna be on the news 24/7, but youre right, only the media is making a bigger deal out of this because its a holocaust museum, im sorry but i dont see why this should overshadow everything else going down in this counrty and believe me theres alot of other stuff goin down.

Vellibiz, It's big news because a white supremacist walked into a Holocaust Museum and tried to kill people. This isn't overshadowing anything, this is a news story and we don't live in China, or Russia, we have a constitution that allows for freedom of the press. Why does this story bother you so much Vellibz?

Why don't we just stop talking about any violence and hatred that occurs against Jews at all? Would that make you happy? Would it at least make you stop talking about your hatred against the Jews? Haha geez. You are getting to be a bit ridiculous. I have read your posts before and I am completely with you on the issue of the Israeli government, but religious intolerance is NOT tolerable in my book. Sorry.

Let me see...
You guys are talking about an old man that's near to his grave shooting around in the Holocaust Museum? And to top that, he's a veteran of WWII? What unit? The Axis or the Allied?
Huhhh... old men doing stupid things.
What I think is needed is just tighter security.
You see, the movement against racial discrimination is overrated. Laws have been passed to put a stop to it, but you cannot put a stop to people's opinions (and stupid actions). No laws can.
Talk about racial? Worse is social and economical profiling and discrimination. It's rampant, unnoticed, and even accepted by society. Just try wearing torn jeans in one of the malls here and the guards will swarm on you like flies.
