How often do we need to change our mobile phone?

I change my cell phone as often as they break. I once had a phone for 3 years & it was very good to me. Every so often when my contract runs out & I have no intention of changing serivce provider, I'd just go out & get a free phone or cheap phone as a back up by signing up for another 2 years.

I don't like to keep up with the latest model of cell phone because I think it is just wasting money. I will keep using my current cell phone until it gets broken or out of order before I buy a new one. I don't need fancy cell phone, all I need is a cell phone that can make calls, sms, and browse the internet using GPRS service.
