Have to say 80's movies isn't something I look for.... but, I will say that there are some funny ones. Pretty in Pink is great because James Spader is adorable. Mannequin was funny, I saw it last night, James Spader was hilarious, and the actually movie was actually pretty funny, AND Kim Cattrall was actually alright. XD New Kids (80's horror) was just... so insane. But a common thread in it is that James Spader was sooo funny. Ghostbusters is pretty amusing, and so is Clue. But most of my 80's movies have come from the fact I like certain actors... so I watch like all their movies. XD

I was born in the 90's but agree! Agree with Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Stand By Me but I think the Back to the Future movies, for example, were also made then too and I love them. Some complete classics.

I liked the movie Ordinary People. I think that came out in about 1980. It was a really good movie. I also liked Ghandi and ET, they both came out in the 80's. They were both pretty good movies. I think there are some movies that are better than others and the 80's had some good movies for sure.

I am definitely an 80s film fan with the likes of St Elmo's Fire, The Breakfast Club and Back to the Future rating as some of my favourite films of all time but also lesser known ones such as "Mask" starring Eric Stoltz and Cher as well as "Youngblood" featuring Rob Lowe and Patrick Swayze. There were so many really good films made in the 80s and for many reasons I prefer them to many of the films released in recent times.

I actually started a similar discussion when I first joined mylot, and I have to agree with you. 80's movies are awesome. I love Ferris Bueller as well. I also love, Monster Squad, The Goonies, Weird Science, and The Breakfast Club. They need to go back to that style of movie! They were absolutley awesome! I wasn't a fan of most of the Molly Ringwald movie, but all the same, they have become classics.

Oh man I LOVE EIGHTIES MOVIES! I love the clothes, the music, the classic sassy one-liners... all of it. It's wonderful. Ferris Beuller, Sixteen Candles, Dirty Dancing, Footloose, War Games.... Also, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome is pretty fantastic. The Back to the Future movies, of course... There are so many great flicks. I love them!
