When you think of god what comes to your mind? Do you think of god as a person and give god a gender or do you see god as some kind of force? Where did you get your idea of what god is? Dose the god you think of have rules you must obey?

I believe in god as a force. I believe god is in everything natural. I really can't explain my beliefs because I've studied a lot of religions and take beliefs from each of them. I don't believe in a set of rules persay. Just trying to be the best person you can be. Show kindness and acceptance to everyone and treat others the way you'd like to be treated.

I believe in Jesus and I think I should obey the ten commandments to be a good follower of Christ. I will try to do my level best to follow that. Yes, I see god as a force who hear our prayers and answer our prayers whenever needed. He has plans which are good for ur and often listen to us and take care of us.

If you view god as a force why do you refer to god as he? A force has no gender.

I believe god as he who has a force with him. This is my personal opinion, I am sorry if it doesn't match with your opinion.

daliaj just for clarification, your belief seems to be that god has a physical presence and the gender of that presence is male. If I am incorrect in this assumption please correct me. It is only natural that our opinions do not match because you are a Christian and I am not. There is no reason to be sorry that our opinions don't match.

When I look at a picture, of say a tree, in a sense I look at that tree but I know what I see is not a tree but a picture. Rather I see a tree THROUGH the picture. Thus it is with our concepts of God. What is infinite cannot be grasped with the finite mind but our image of God is what we come to know God THROUGH. all the best urban

Christianity unlike other religions is not so much a book of rules as a relationship and what rules there are, are, if you like, metarules; rules to derive rules from. Or if you prefer they are rules, where it is understood, that a rule is not a law. all the best urban

Hello Chiang_Mai_boy, For me whenever the word comes to me, my mind makes the images of the various actors, dressed in fancy dress lol...I can't imagine something other than that... Why does God necessarily need to be in the form of human. There are millions of creatures in this world and why God had to be like a person. So, may be because Man made god in his mind, everyone imagine God with the body of man. If you come to the Hindu religion, you will see both male god and female god and many in number... But everything seems to be imagination. For me the rule of nature, the force is the God like you said. The force that tends to bind everything to the equilibrium condition to maintain the balance. And on this process, it doesn't listen the prayers, nothing. It just works on on the basic of current state and and previous states to take a new state tries to achieve equilibrium. This world seems to be imbalanced by the feelings of ego currently. Which seems to be necessary to be balanced out by the love and compassion... Happy mylotting...

God is a spiritual Being with great intelligence. Gender is a parameter of a physical body. God has no physical body. There are reasons for us having a physical body but that is another story. Does God have rules? God believes in FREEDOM!!! Don't worry about rules. Be who you must! It's a part of the plan. God will work around your free choices to teach you all the secrets of the universe and beyond. God merely shows you what you do. Everything you do in life comes back to you in time. God is unconditional LOVE! He has made you eternal. I started learning about God from religion's teachings but discovered very little of God is in religion. Lots of man in religion. In search for God, I tried first to reason just what is happening in this world. I knew if God really exists that it would all add up. I searched long and hard for answers. They are here and there for they stare us in the face for those who can discover the real truth. Finally after a meager understanding of God, I searched. God can be found. Perhaps few want to really find God. Seems we always get someone else to lead the way. Is that the right path??? No!
