I am kind of person who used to understand the concept and used to write that concept in my whole words.
When the concept was difficult to understand then I used to try to read that answer word to word.
Few of my friends are learning answers from reference books word by word.
But I think there concept might not be as strong as those are understanding concept first!!
What do you think about it?

I always try to understand a new coocept instead of just memorizing the facts. Learning the pages by heart without understanding the things I am reading is not useful for me. If there is something I don't understand I usually try to read about the topic in a different book. Sometimes it is easier to understand the concept when I read another explanation, because different authors emphasize different things and use different words. When I understand the concept I try to write it in my own words and I often split it up into small pieces and cover them one by one. I also like to create questions about the concept and write down the answers in my notes.

You have implemented a really good trick this one.
You said it right that just memorizing the answer is useless we should also know the concept.
Thanks for your useful response.
Well How was your academic performance throughout school and college??

use pictures,it is said that it's easier 2 remember a picture than a bunch of words,so we could draw pictures as we re remembering, whatever which could help you 2 bear it in mind, then, after a while repeat the things you wanna remember only by the picture you made, try me.
or even write em 4 some times, which works 2

For my own part,I usually try to explain the concept in my own words after reading it,then compare what I say with the accurate concept to find out the difference.Of course,I'll focus on the difference and try to understand it.A good concept,I think, must consist of selective words. In a sense,to remember a cocept word by word is essential.
