What are you looking forward to most? Twilight Saga: New Moon or Harry Potter 6?

Personally, I'm much more excited about Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Not only have we been waiting a lot longer but I find the films a lot more original and magical. Plus they are extremely British! I enjoyed Twilight last year and bought it, but when I watched it for a second time I realised that it wasn't as good as I remembered as on second watch it just seemed to drag as you knew what was going to happen. However, I wasn't a big fan of the last harry Potter movie either despite fantastic special effects. I really believe the next one will be a huge improvement to that :)
I think as well as that, Harry Potter has been a big thing in my life as the first movie came out when I was about 7 and I'm now 16.
So how about you?

Fair point. I created this discussion as I know a lot of people who like both. I agree that Twilight is a cute love story!
Any particular reasons as to why you hate Harry Potter? Have you seen all 5 of the movies (as they're very different from each other in my opinion, for example they keep getting darker and more grown up)? Is it that you prefer romance or just don't like the characters, for example?
Thanks for responding to this discussion. :)

Yeah, I completely get what you mean! I wouldn't say Twilight is the most original film but it does use vampires in a different way to most. They're either usually used for horror movies or cheesy childrens programs. Honestly, I've never been a huge fan of Harry Potter or Daniel Radcliffe himself. I love the films because of the character Ron and think Hermione is quite a likeable character too.
Maybe you will! The next Harry Potter movie focuses a lot on romance I think. There's Harry and Ginnie (Ron's sister) getting together and Ron getting a girlfriend which gets Hermione upset and jealous as she shows more and more that she's starting to fall for him.

I just cant get into it. Im not a big Vampire fan either. All the Vampire movies are the same. But Twilight was cute it was diffrent I guess. When It comes to movies like Vampire movies or horror movies I guess vampire movies are never scary enough. So I guess I get disapointed. But Twilight is more a romance and not really a violent want a be horror movie. But with Harry Potter Ive never liked the main Charecter and just could never get into the movie. Ive seen a few of them but I can never set and watch all the movie. No offense I just cant get into them. My sister used to love them but she cant stand them now. I dont know what happened there. She had all the books and loved them. But she is a Twilight fan now. I have tried to get into them though. Who knows maybe I will get into the next one.

Haha Robert Patinson is certainly better to look at and Edward is more likeable I think, but the characters as a whole are more likeable in the Harry Potter movies in my opinion, and I prefer Robert as Cedrig Diggory haha!

I really got into Harry potter when I was 11- and that was the same time the first movie came out. I felt really weird and lucky for some reason because the Harry Potter cast was about the same age as me. I went to see all the movies as they came out. but in 2008, no Harry Potter movie came out. In that time, I started reading Twilight, and I'm totally hooked on it. xD
I've read all the books now, and I really liked the movie. I think I'm more excited for New Moon now.

Well I was about 7 when the first film came out and therefore the cast were older, however because of the timing for the next film, the actual characters are now meant to be the same age as me and I think that helps. But then again the Twilight characters are about the same age now (not including Edwards probable real age of course).

Definitely Harry Potter 6. I've followed it since I was a teenager and all the characters are interesting to me. I actually liked twilight too but too much romantic scenes in a movie might be boring for me. Harry Potter has never failed to impress me with all of their movies. I'm a fan of the book too.
Take care.

I don't like Twilight. After watching the movie (I had not read the book at the time), I was like...ok, so this is the movie all the people buzzed about? It is so...regular, not saying this is a bad movie, but also not that good. But maybe people (especially women....more specifically teenagers) transfixed about love triangle fantasy of the vampire-werewolf-regular girl...
Meanwhile for Harry Potter, has been fan of the book since long time ago, always watching the movie version in the theatre, also kinda sad it will end in 2011. Book 6 was not my fave amongst the series (that would be Book 5, although I also think the movie is the weakest among the series, too many cuts!), but I am sure I will enjoy every minutes of it. Hopefully it will be the best from the series, although I must say Prisoners Azkaban is hard to beat! That movie version is awesome!

Well I'm a 16 year old girl (on my dads account) and don't get the hype, especially in the UK as it's entirely American despite Robert Pattinson being British (he has an American accent in it). Although I do love strange romances haha!
Have never read the books so as films my favourite would probably be 'the Chamber of Secrets' very long but I love every minute of it. I think the settings within the film are wonderfully done and for a PG it can actually be quite frightening. I do like how the movies have gotten a little bit darker though, although the next one seems a bit less so in the way it has been filmed from the trailers. I think the fifth one lacked enough comedy too. I have said though that I am likely to enjoy every minute of the new film as we have followed the characters for such a long time now and we already really like them.
