American Idol Season 8 is one of the most memorable season in the history of this very successful talent show. This is the first time Top 13 contestants were chosen instead of the usual Top 12. This is the first time the Judges' Save was introduced.
This is the first time we saw 4 judges instead of 3. Most of all, the Top 2 finalists are 2 totally different artists with totally opposite styles. Adam is the flambouyant, theatrical and rock artist who has a very dominating presence on the stage while Kris is the laid back, boy next door and soft-spoken guitar and piano playing artist who has been under the radar and under the shadow of Adam.
The outcome where Kris emerged as the Season 8 Idol also raised a lot of eyebrows, not because he is not a good artist but just because Adam is so dominating and totally on a different level for the most part of the season. With the competition over and the 2 artists are in the "real world now" with their respective recording contracts, I would think that the pressure is bigger on Kris to prove that he deserves to be the Season 8 Idol. On the otherhand, Adam's sexuality could have some negative impact on his career, although I seriously hope not. After all, millions loved Adam for his exceptional talent, right?
Now that the Kris and Adam are making a bid to be successful in the music industry with their contrasting styles, I'm pretty sure that both will be very successful BUT I wonder who will be more successful? Kris or Adam?
What do you think?

First of all I don't think Kris is Star material. I was very shocked when Adam did not win. He has the look, the know how and the voice to dominate the music industry. His preformance of Ring of Fire was awesome no one would have ever dreamed that a Johnny Cash song could have been redone to be a Rock song. I think you will be hearing a lot from Adam in the music world.

100% Agree with you. I think Adam is one of the best if not the best contestant Idol has ever had. I too was shocked when Adam did not win because he was so consistent from day 1 upto the finals. Everyone I know are excited to see what he is going to perform week after week. Many are excited already for his debut Album and definitely want to see him perform in his very own concerts. Adam is trully one of the most exciting performers out there today. Cheers!

I do truly believe that Adam will be far more successful than Kris. Not that Kris isn't talented. He's just nowhere near Adam when it comes to star power, presence or vocals. I haven't heard Kris' single at all on the radio while I have seen that Adam is on the cover of Rolling Stones etc...
I think that, in the long run, it may have been better that Adam didn't win. American Idol's winners don't always do that well. Sometimes they are tied down to a contract singing mediocre songs etc... Adam will get more control with what he wants to do now with his career and work.

Hands down, I think that Adam Lambert will be more successful that Kris. I love Adam..I think he has an amazing voice and is a great performer and I think he was cheated out of the title. Ofcourse, in retrospect i'm glad he didnt' win b/c he should't be makign pop albums..he is a rocker! Besides, the reason I think he will be more successful is b/c he is everywhere these days..He is on the cover of rolling stones, he will be on 20/20 tomorrow night...and to think , he didn't evne win..haha...

Good points, leyisa. Yes, Adam is a genuine rocker but I do believe he is very flexible and can beat anyone too in the Pop category. I think to be very successful he should mix it up like what he did in American Idol. For his first Album, I hope he does a lot of old classic songs and twist them and make them look original again like what he did in Idol. Same with Kris, actually, he is also very good in twisting songs and making it sound original like what he did with Heartless. Again, it sounds like I'm confused who will be more successful between the 2.. Ha ha

Adam, I guess. I'm a Glambert, so I have bias, but all the same, I think he's better. That doesn't take anything away from Kris, though. He's a great person. He can sing too.

Totally agree. Both are really good singers. And the best thing about these 2 guys is that they both know how to make an old song original. I think this is the reason why these 2 became the finalists for Season 8. The 2 used the formula of choosing a great song by a great artist and putting their own spin on these songs making them sound original. I guess they learned from David Cook when David sang Lionel's "Hello". That was the breakthrough moment for David last season and for Kris, it was his rendition of Heartless which many considered his breakthrough moment. For Adam, every performance is a breakthrough moment and no wonder he was called the "Michael Phelps of American Idol" by miss Abdul.
