By Executive Order He is planning on Making Preventative Detention a realitiy. It may last three, five, or up to ten years. You do not actually have to do anything to stay in jail, you just have to have the "potential" to do something.
He just made a slamming speech about ex Pres. Bush and how he failed with the terrorist and now he is going to do worse. However he is going to include potential Americans to the list. Don't you just love it?

I think it is really time something is done to stop this kind of dangerous behavior.

I forgot to mention that the president he admires, Abraham Lincoln also did this during the Civil war. He also sent the military into the Maryland legislature to monitor the vote for succession. If the vote was getting close they had orders to arrest some of the legislatures to insure that Maryland stayed in the Union.

Obama is the real terrorist. I think the new executive order should start with him.
Yes, it is trashing the Constitution. It will make this country into a police state. No more freedom of speech. Hitler the Second needs to be impeached for sure. I think he is trying to get the people mad enoough to have a revolution. Unless he thinks that nobody in this country cares about freedom any more.

I agree with you...but the people I talk to are sceptical. They are also the product of two generations of dumbing down in our schools...most have not a clue as to how our government is suppose to work...what the Bill of Rights mean or why I feel the Constitution is being trashed...cause they haven't ever read it or studied it.
I feel that was part of the plan too. btw
Mostly, I get...."oh, you're one of those conspiracy theorists.'
So, since they know everything we do and say....HOW are we going to fight back? Especially those of us with young children...cause they'll come for them next!

Acording to Obama the only real terrorists are Americans who don't agree with him.

What does any of what you said have anything to do with Obama signing an executive order which allows him to imprison anyone simply because we don't agree with him?

Well if I have to spell it out:
The reason you gave for Obama's policy is Terrorism. Something which the IRA in Northern Ireland did a lot in the 1970's and 80's in the UK. Trying to fight them didn't work out. It was (is nearly) solved by negotiation, not fighting.
Locking people up because they don't agree with something is denying people freedom of speech - something that my grandfather fought for in WW2.
Simple.

And he doesn't think that's a problem. It's a war against terror (which is a daft thing to have a war against if you ask me! GB has been through it with Northen Ireland. Tried the fighting, tried the ignoring, tried the spies, sent in the SAS (what they thought they'd be able to do is beyond me - more propaganda I think) and in the end they had to sit at a table and sort it out) not a war against having an opinion. I can think, and voice what I want. I'm entitled to do that. Surely it's that freedom that got Black people the vote in the first place? Those people who paved the way for Obama to be president!

I tried to watch the video, but it has been removed(surprise, surprise). It is highly distrubing the way our present government is trampling all over the Constitution. What is even more troubling, and I don't understand in the least is that 98% of the democrats in Congress are right in step with all his plans. Don't they realize their rights are being eroded right along with ours. Don't any of them truly value our Constitution? Perhaps they all think if Obama has absolute power he will make them into czars and they will be exempt from the oppression of the masses.

Somehow I think even the Democrats will be touched by this one. They will likely have family members who could be hurt by this. The chickens will come home to roost as they say. It cannot help but touch the lives of many. We need to get off our butts and do something now!

Shoot, I don't know if we CAN do anything, since most of us are on some list or other complied by them, we'll probably be the ones getting locked up, you know, so the freed terrorists from Gitmo don't run into any trouble from all of us patriotic radicals.

Watch the video. Gitmo is not being freed. Neither will any Americans if they should be so unlucky. The big 0 is destroying our country and we are all just standing by like the Jews did as if we had no power to save ourselves. Well we still out number him and we need to impeach him. He has committed treason at the very least.

I think that's a bit worrying. Very worrying in fact. I mean, having the potential, what does that mean? Any grad chemist could make a bomb! Could they be locked up? Anyone with cause to terrorise, eg not liking how much tax they pay, could they be locked up?

It is not just those who DO something to terrorize....it is those who have the 'potential" to terrorize! The recent list that caused such a stir...with conservative Christians..even VETERANS on it...as possible terrorists is really scarey! They are working to shut up the opposition! Those who speak out against liberal agendas!

Signing an Executive Order authorizing preventive detention is certainly part of a conspiracy to deny Americans their lawful civil rights. We already have laws against this. Law Enforcement Officers can get into serious trouble when they deny suspects their civil rights. The President does not have special privaliages to break the law. Therefore, the President making an organized effort to enmass deny civil rights would be a serious crime. Serious enough to be a "High crime or misdemeanor".

A Sentient Being amoung the masses! Hi Red. Where are the rest of the intelligent people in this country? Where is the outrage? There wasn't even a ripple when the 0 did this. What is going on with America? This is destruction of the Constitution at the very least. Don't just impeach him. put him in jail, he isn't even a citizen. He is an imposter.

So, was it ok for Bush to authorize the wire-tapping of many Americans! Then, when people were trying to sue the phone compaines, they were given a blanket protection, for clearly violating people's rights. Obama's doing nothing worse than Bush. You want to see something scary, go onto youtube, and do a search for FEMA concentration camps! This was real big during Bush's adminsitration.

One doesn't have to be 'for' Bush just cause they are 'against' Obama. Many people see them, and a long list of others...as part of a larger, more sinister plan. And the masses...are led to believe that one side is 'good' and the other side is 'bad' just to keep them all from figuring that out. What if...they're all BAD? ! and by keeping us all arguing about 'our side' we miss the real enemy ???

With the link gone it is hard to comment on what sounds like blatant lies. Please post a link to something that supports the supposed facts here.
I wouldn't be surprised that there are still advisors pitching this sort of unconstitutional plan (they were definitely in Bush's ear), but I have seen no evidence that Obama is falling for it. If so, it would seem to be a breach of contract with the public that elected him, considering he ran against the Bush Administration's Domestic Terror Policy.
What was the link anyway: A young terrorist with a camcorder?

I wanted to see that SPECIFIC link and there was not enough information here to find it on my own. Anyone can search for what they are tring to find, meaning that you can always find something to support your own agenda.
I did say it "SOUNDS like blatant lies". In the way that you can judge someone by their paranoia, without knowing what they are talking about.
Obama has been pushing for reforms in the military detention system for suspected terrorists so those opposed to him and supporters of the Bush Administration policies are going to have the agenda of slamming President Obama at every turn. Twisting speeches and reporting on half-truths is all part of the program.
If someone wants to start a discussion and make outrageous claims, the onus is on them to provide the links to evidence!
Wake up America!

The main thing now is Mr Obama must focus inland problems and thrash out all the money spending to unnecessary costs. I think he has done the right thing on this issue. Better divert that allocated money to many needy groups in US and rebuild US economy back on the right track.
How much money already wasted in the foreign countries war?. Trillion of money already invested in those wars with no return. Got name but the outcome? Basically, he came from law background tertiary learning, so he must use his profession specialization to make an international law more world safe keeping.
It doesn't mean that to forget about predicaments and ordeals that had happened, but the people now need US economy be back on the right track. Which is the thing must takes first. Today's world no longer "respect" the strong weapons that we have, but they respect how much money we have with good moral and attitude. Matter of fact, so called the best never stay long as technology is developing. China + India + Russia now making money and war is their hidden agenda and not on talking basis.
Mr Obama must focus on how to make US free recession. Other things will be the next. Sometimes better be like China, more works and less trivial talk.

I do not believe that our economic problems were the result of normal ups and downs of a free market. I believe that the current problems and problems in the past were orchastrated by the Federal Reserve with the intention of scaring the American people into accepting more and more government control in their lives. I don't think we got to this point overnight. Sure, greed has been a factor...but then we were TOLD to spend, spend, spend by the media and our leaders! As for the corporate contribution to all this...well, we reward greedy and irresponsible behavior in our society and consider those who make millions by irresponsible behavior to be 'smart'. But that is something that the government encourages too. We as a people have played right into their hands. We demand safety and security and handouts from our government and forget that accountability and responsibility should be part of success on a personal level.
We never should have allowed the government to get so into our purses in the first place..cause we've just handed them the power to control us....when you look to others for food, shelter and basic survival needs...you give them control over YOU. Those who depend on the government for basic survival...will never question what that government does.

Once again, I am appalled at how many things people are letting Obama get away with. If Bush had done this, people would be absolutely shrieking at the top of their lungs. All people hear him say is "I'm going to close Guantanamo." They then stop listening when he says, "But then I'm going to implement a far worse plan that involves holding people for an indefinite period of time without giving them a trial."
Way to go America. We're dumber than I thought, I guess.

We are surrounded by terminal apathy. Americans want everything done for them and they want it done right now. They do not really care what is going on in the white house or what the big 0 is doing as long as it does not directly affect them right now. They cannot picture that it might effect them later down the road.

You know...for years there have been people trying to warn of this very thing. We called them conspiracy nuts! Apathy? Maybe there was something to that theory that fluride and chemtrails were poisoning us into beings without will? Something is...maybe it's from being overloaded with information...and our brains have shut down cause they can't process it all. Or maybe it's from being told over and over in our schools, in our churches, from our media...that people who make waves and speak up are NUTS. I even find myself wondering if I am going to wake up and it all be a dream...?
Then of course..as I found out during the election, there are those who will lambast you, call you a racist, accuse you of being all manner of terrible things if you speak your mind. Now we have the very real theat of our blogs, comments...discussions being monitored and the very real threat of being accused of terrorism if we write the very things we are writing here....people are either not taking it seriously or they are afraid to take it seriously.
It has been said...of the HOLOCAUST and 9/11 NEVER FORGET! We have forgotten else how did we get to this point?
