Do you go fishing or have you in the past? Who taught you how to fish?

I still go fishing once in a great while. I enjoy it when I do. It brings back memories of my dad, who taught all eight of us how to fish. We knew how to bait our own hooks, untangle a line, etc. at a young age. My mom taught us how to cook the fish. We all left the cleaning to dad: )
Do you go fishing or have you ever? Who taught you how to fish? Do you eat what you catch?Karen

Hello my friend Karen Ji
Well, sorry to dis-appoint you, I have never gone, no one taught me, as we are pure vegetarians. May God bless You and have a great time.

It does not disappoint me : ) We each learn and do different things, all of equal value. Have a wonderful day or evening.

Hi Karen.....I love to fish!!!
That is probably the only good memories I have of my first marriage was when we would go fishing. it didn't matter what time of the day or night I was alwasy ready and had pole and bait in hand...LOL
We most definitely ate what we caught and when the kids were old enough we got them bamboo poles so they could catch bluegil and other panfish.
I haven't been fishing in along time as my husband now does not like the outdoor stuff, but maybe one day I will get me a pole and some bait...a comfy chair and a good book and go find me a nice place to cast a line and have a nice soothing, forget everything kind of day.

I hope you do get that pole and have your relaxing times fishing again. There is something so peaceful about the outdoors. It brings such joy!

I was taught to fish by my Dad also. But we always had the rule you catch it you clean it. I really don't like to kill anything not even flies so even though I like to go on the water I don't fish, I get to run the boat for others to fish. And I get to cook them when we get back, I'm good at that.

I used to watch my dad do the cleaning part, but could never bring myself to do it. I do the fishing and cooking part, and leave the cleaning to others lol.
Thank you for responding...

I have gone fishing with my hubby before, he is a big fan of fishing, I have gone with him last year and tried, it wasn't easy at all, I casted but I didn't get anything and it made my arm very tired quick. We have been fishing this year and he has caught 5 big keepers already, particularly like the big fish fishing f it comes to little fishing, I can ahndle it and I find it fun.

Fishing is a good hobby to try at least a few times :) Kudos to your hubby on his catches and to your for going along...a good way to spend some time together when you can.
