Some experts are saying the economy is starting to show signs of coming out of the recession! Bull! The economy is still in the recession! Gas prices are on the raise and will probaly hit $3.00 or more a gallon! I work at a college and we aren't having as many camps as we usaually! That means less money for the college! We are also losing money form the county teachers association! They couldn't afford their annual 3 day conference this week! So the college loses out on more money! I lose out on OT then! I even know the price of hay has gone up and keeps going up! If I didn't own a horse I wouldn't pay attention to that! Milk prices are down for the farmers! To me this shows we are still in a bad recession and it will take longer then expected to get out it! How about you?

Gas prices just went back up from the summer Oil Company greed, but no where near last year's highs. That doesn't mean I disagree though. I think what the economists are seeing is that this recesion is not as bad as they feared and they are trying to cover their collective rears for earlier projections. It doesn't mean there are not serious problems and it doesn't really look like things are too much better, but looking back on the horror stories we were being fed about what would happen this year, it is not so bad. Now the farmers: that's a whole different can of worms, so to speak. Recent attempts to stabilize milk prices throughout the MidWest have slashed the price of a farmer's bulk milk more than 300% in some areas. Milk in the stores remains the same though, of course! The problem here is this does not effect the rest of the economy. America collectively hasn't seemed to care what is happening to the Agriculture sector since Nixon. If bad things happening to farmers hurt the economy we would have been in a recession for 30-some years.

I agree with you heathcliff. I think that America forgets about the farmer. We are losing too many farmers in this nation. What is going to happen when they are all gone and we have to import all of our foods? It seems that farmers are always getting bad deals.

You are right the farmers are hurting the most! They have been hurting since the Nixon years! It always gets worse for the farmers! We are losing all the family and small farmers! Pretty soon w e will have just mega farms out there prducing the milk and the crops! Not a good thing! the farmers are always the forfotten ones!

Well in England things seem to be getting cheaper for us. The petrol prices have gone down, the grocery prices have gone down, the rent has gone down. It just seems that things are getting cheaper over here rather than more expensive!

I'm in the United States. Things are getting more expensive here. Rent is going up in January, utilities have gone up. The fare for the bus is going up as well. Where I am everything is going up and my income is going in the opposite direction. Some folks have all the luck.

Im so sorry to hear that! There are more jobs being created now thank god! I think it is getting better in some places but we may fall back on our faces soon, I hope not!

Of course its going to take awhile to get out. It took Bush how long to run us into the ground? So, we are not going to get out of the recession overnight. Everyone has to do their part for us to get out of this. And many many people are just sitting around waiting for Obama to fix all their problems. It doesn't work like that. Each person can do a little more to make things better.

You are right it took a while for bush to get use in this mess and leave it for for Obama to fix! I agree alot of people are waiting for Obama to fix the economy. We all can do a little more to make things better! Some od us just don't realize that!

the economy is getting worst and everything seems to be rising drastically.Let alone the gas price is increasing but now the price of food and other materials are also increasing like mad.How can people with lower incomes survive this situation and maybe for the richer ones they will be going down to the level of a normal living standards.I am just wondering how can they survive driving expensive cars that would need to consume tonnes of oil and cost them extra for their monthly expenses.Whats worst now is we all don't get a raise in our pay and school fees are also increasing and this is very insane. As for me I am not rich and I am not able to pay my school fees since it is higher now and my pay is just enough to cover month by month and there are no extra every month. How do I go on saving money when there is none to be saved....

Many countries are still trapped in the global economic crisis, but some countries are stepping out of the crisis, such as China.China is recovering from the recession. In the country, the price of commodity is stable and the employment is increased. As long as the government of the country takes effective measures, the economy will come out of recesson quickly.

I think the economy is still heading down but then it is not as quickly as before. It has expanded based on some false hope the past few years and thus it takes some time to make the corrections. But then, I am optimistic that we will see it turn to the positive region very soon. In fact, there are signs that the confidence of people is not as bad as before where most people are thinking that the doomsday is right there.

Oil was up to $71 a barrel on the news yesterday. I think it will continue to rise as well and it will reach $3.00 before the summer is over. Lots of people are getting shafted. Our state just cut state employee salaries and is going to cut about 5000 teaching positions. I think it is very sad. My mom works in the school system and she is trying her best to find another job so that she can get out of it.

Tell the truth, the unemployment is still high, and I don't see much revival sign on the economy either. It is either for the banking shows a little benefit after while, and the house market is still in struggle. It won't be that easy to get out of that deep recession yet. We still need to work on it. Banks are getting confidence on people and business on borrowing money I heard. Hopefully, we are on the right track right now.

The government is using the "power of suggestion" to have people fooled into thinking things are getting better. We can look around us and see for ourselves that not much of anything is getting better. It's a ruse.

The bull : Recession is over. still some more days evry thing will be in a normal state. economy is rising till yesterday (11.06.2009) BSE has raised to 15344 points form 8400 in march. this is a perfect example for the growth of economy & at the same time inflation is below 0.46. But the dark part is that the prices have not gone done. we hope for better growth & expect the normal & steady economy in the following days.
