My family had to putmy dog down about fve weeks ago.
About 30 hours ago, my cat went outside. Always asked to go out after dinner, so it was noting unusual. But He didn't come back. Just this morning, we got a call from the vet's office that my cat, Simba was hit by a car. Animal control had come to pick his body up, and ID-ed him by the vaccination tag he wore from our vet's office.
I was just shattered this morning. I'm still getting over the loss of my dog.
Simba was given to me for my 5th birthday, and it's especially sad, because my 19th b-day is next Saturday.
Have you ever lost a pet to a car?

Yes, I have had a pet cat run over by a car. Actually, it was my daughter's cat, which makes the loss that much worse. She was 8 or 9 at the time. Now, our cats are strictly indoor pets. If you get the cat as a kitten and it never goes outside except to go to the vet, y ou will not have any problems with it trying to get out when someone opens the door.

Oh sweety, my heart and prayers go out to you. I am so, so sorry that you lost both your beloved dog and then your beloved little kitty. No, I have never lost a pet to a car so I can't relate to that exact thing, but I can relate to how painful it is to lose a pet. It's like losing a member of your family. Pets give us so much unconditional love and ask for nothing in return. Four years ago I lost my dog to cancer and was there when they put him to sleep. That was so incredibly painful to watch, but I just couldn't leave him alone while they did that. It still makes me really sad. Now I have a four year old yellow lab and a seven year old cat that are like my own children. When I found out that I had to move and may not be able to have them go with me it broke my heart, but I found a place where they can be with me. I can't imagine how you feel losing both in such a short period of time. I hope your grief will get better everyday although it's probably almost overwhelming right now. I'll say a prayer for you and your pets. Let us know if there's anything we can do to help you feel better o.k.? In the meantime, try to remember all the good times you had with them and hold on to those memories.~D

This is a terrible story but at least you know Simba is in heaven now. I'm sorry for your loss and I hope you can get over them soon. Bear new love with another cat or dog and treat them as well as you would have treated your dog or Simba. Regards.

i lost my cat - its so sad to hear that our pets are not with us and they are no more . it feels like being in hell that without our pets who is being our close and thickest friends from our childhood . it is more painful moment that when we hear that our favourite and most lovable pet is missing or its is no more with us .
but nothing can fill the gap of our pets at any cause .

My heart goes out to you megu. It's so hard to lose a pet at any time in their short lives. I have gone through that grief a few times myself. Two cats and a dog, but only one of the cats was lost to an accident. Unfortunately, I still don't know what happened to my Kazu. He went out one Friday evening and did not return. I know in my heart that he is gone to a better place because when I dream about him, he is happy and purring in the sunshine.
Grieve but know that your little one is safe and warm now, waiting for you when you too are done your journey.

ohh poor Simba...it is really bad when your pet as cats didn't turn back home and so you discover that....it is really sad moment i guess for you!!
So i never lost cats or dog also because i never had one at home the maximum of pets i had when i was a child were one turtle,so as you imagine it was difficult he came around fast, and one little bird and normally he will stay in his place..so never happened to me i think that if it happen this i will be very sad for my pet!!

I am so very very sorry. It hurts to lose any pet, but it really hurts when they have been hit by a car and even more when they have been a part of your life for so long. I am so sorry about putmy too. The only thing that helps me is to remember all the good times that I had and that I did my best to make my pets happy. It would not hurt so bad if we did not love them so much. I can tell that you made their life much better than anyone else could have.

Awww I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm a cat lover myself. My male cat passed away this past February and I was so heartbroken. My children loved that cat as well. I have a female cat as well. We are looking for another cat to keep her company.

Long time ago I lost one to a car. More recently I lost a 16 year old cat to some dogs that somebody had let run loose. My cats are (mostly) indoor cats now. sorry about the loss of your cat. :-(
