I had quit smoking for eight years...and that is a long time! When under a great deal of stress some 10 years ago, I started again. For me, it does help me cope with stress, but I don't think it is good for me. I wish I would just quit again and stay quit : /

Oh, it was very much a habit when I did quit. The biggest help was that my doctor suggested it as a way to recover from influenza more quickly. That gave me a bit of an edge.

No, it's definitely not good. Now you've developed an emotional connection with the cigs which is hard to shake loose.

I don't think it is good to smoke at all. I have seen many people smoking when they get tensed. They can't control that. There are lots of other stress brakers which these people have to practice. I have also seen people who wants to have a puff after a good meal.
I am sorry for the people who smoke. It is very bad for health. But, I undestand that smoking helps them to break some stress and keep them relaxed atleast for some time.

Kamisha, smoking is never good. It is a bad habit. Try another outlet for stress. Sing if you have a good voice. Dance if you are good at it. Walk, jog, run, swim. Do something like responding to the issues here. You'd do a lot of help to other people. To your self, too.
