thankyou all for your help and advice on good printers.
i bought a hp 4280 all in one printer and its awesome. it prints photos, normal prints, scans and photocopies. its super quiet, quick. and really good is you can change the sizing of the pic without having to go into pc scan change etc. and it has all the slots for you to put your xd,sd etc cards too so you can print straight from them too.
thankyou all very much, your help was greatly appreciated in finding my new printer.
