There is no indicator in mylot to know whether your friend is online or offline. Other sites for example orkut has a green and red button which shows whether your friend is online or offline but there is no such facility in mylot. What do you say about it? Should there be such indicator in mylot so that we can know which of our friends is online and which are not.

I agree. Mylot should have this feature indeed. Kinda like the feature in myspace where you can see whose friend of yours are online. It would be helpful for users. Nice job on thinking about this.

Hi Aditya, Being very frank, i must admit that i never realised this feature missing on mylot, before reading your discussion. This is really one of the must-have features on social networking sites....it really hepls at times... But if i remember correctly, even orkut did not have this feature when it started ... Do you know of a place on Mylot, where people like us, USERS, can suggest improvement areas for making Mylot a better place than what it is now?? Regards, Vaibhav

Yes you are right . It is really a must have feature on any social networking site so that we can exchange messages when all the friends are online and do not have to wait when they will respond. I think if you have to suggest improvement areas to mylot then you have to contact them directly with your suggestion other than that there is no method apart from posting discussions in mylot section.

I actually like the fact that there is no indicator as to whether you are online or off. The reason is when I come on here it is usually only for a few minutes at a time during the day, and don't really want to get chatting to someone because they know I am online as I will end up spending too much time on here instead of getting on with more important things. If there was a system where you could control your online status then I wouldn't have an objection but an enforced system would possibly deter me from coming on here for a few minutes at a time during the day.

I also noticed this and to be honest with you then i noticed this only when I read your discussion, I never bothered a lot about it though. Well if mylot think it is useful to place the inicator then It will be nice. They know when we are online or offline and I think if friends also know then we can send them messages too.

yes it would be much better if we know who is online and who is not so that we can exchange messages .

Just my opinion. If there's an indicator if a friend is online...Mylotters might tend to discuss through chat more instead of leaving something to discuss here... thats just a thought though.

That would be great also. Since we get paid by sending personal messages too. I guess that would bring us all a little bit closer to one another. If that were to happen.
