Why is water colourless?

guys ive been wondering why is water colourless? can u just respond?

only pure water is colorless.Infact all liquids in their pure form are colorless. this is due to the rayleigh action - the action of white light which consists of all colors,being scattered when passing through other materials such as transparent slods, liquids or gases.
