Will China become more powerful than the USA?

A lot of articles has been talking about China becoming the next top superpower surpassing the US. In recent years China has shown a lot of influence on the world stage taking significant roles in major events in recent history which is a little intimidating. Now lies the question, is China surpassing the US as the world's top superpower?

there is a possibility that china can become more powerful than the USA. however, for this to happen, it will most probably, cost so much pain like a mom giving birth with all difficulty to her newborn child.
what i see to be a better view, will be for china to be joining in the main superpowers of the world...USA, canada, france, britain are the top ones till today. if china joins them in, no one will be opposing that move. that is, considering the power of china at its current standing.
