I don't know how some people wake up fully blasted with energy ready to take on the day? I myself am not a " morning person " I need to get up have my coffee and wake up which takes about 20 minutes, and even then I don't get a good blast of energy until around 11 am.
What about you, do you wake up fully charged and ready to go?
Do you know how I might be able to wake up with more energy in the morning?

I'm not a morning person even know I have to be! i get up at 6:00 am and it takes me a good half hour of putzing around to start waking up! Sometimes I'm very crappy when I wake up! It's a good thing I live alone! if I didn't I would be taken it out on the other person! I get up so early 6 days a week because of my other job. I do morning feeding at the stable I board my horse at! If I didn't do this I couldn't afford his board! Working it off is what I do! So this is why I get up so darn early!

I enjoy doing feeding at the stable where my horse is boarded! They currently have 22 horses and one miniture donkey! I also take care of the 6 barn cats and the two pygmy goats! There is no pregnent mares at the stable I work at! That is cool you see foals being born! Never had the chance! Have a good day!

Oh it was so awesome! The filly just turned 2 months old on the 25th and the little guy will be 2 months tomorrow the 27th. They are progressing nicely both growing at a steady rate and as the old saying goes lol healthy as a horse.
I know what you mean about the barn cats and other furry critters, let me count for a minute.....There are 9 cats total, 2 big dogs, 7 horses plus the 2 youngins.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to go over there and help hubby because my mother broke her leg so I've had to stay home and help her but now that she's pretty much got the moving around down I think I might go over just for an hour,.. I miss all my furry friends :(
Oh a mini donkey how cute! I saw one for the very first time not too long ago they are so adorable! WOW you have a great deal of mouths to feed. It's hard enough just getting everything ready for the 7 LOL let alone 22!

Ouch getting up at 6 sucks but I do agree it's a good trade for your horse boarding.
I work at a farm mostly volunteer but sometimes they pay me a little bit, I do it because I love the horses and being around them. I did notice that when the mares were getting ready to foal I was up and ready no matter how much or little sleep I had, for two or three weeks I would get up even after just an hour of sleep and run over there to see if we had babies yet LOL. Naturally I was dragging within just a few hours and felt like I was ready to just fall asleep right wherever I was but I think the excitement of the foals coming sure did charge up my batteries LOL.

Now there are two of us. Do you do stretches or some kind of early morning exercises? I don't and perhaps that's one of the many reasons why i am not a morning person. I must start doing that and tomorrow is just perfect. I know that would take a lot of adjustment to my morning routine but if it would make me healthier and a better person in the morning then the more reason for me to do it.
Hi, olydove! What do you think?

I don't do anything in the morning except wake up, stumble around to the coffee pot, get my boys ready for school ( all while stumbling LOL ) and then pray to god to give me the energy I need LOL. Indeed maybe we should start doing some stretches or something?
I have thought maybe it's something to do with the food we eat the evening before? If it's not energizing good healthy food then in the middle of the night while I body processes it, maybe that's what's making us sluggish?

I believe that most if not all of what's happening to our body have something to do with what we feed it, both physically and spiritually. Prayer is just the right way to start and end our exhausting days.

I have to agree with you on that one. Naturally it takes time for our bodies to digest and absorb whatever we eat so I'm guessing if we eat something more healthy and " energetic " for supper we might wake up feeling a bit more charged the next morning. I have been trying to pay attention to things like that lately and I have been noticing that on nights where we have meat with our supper I do feel on the " icky " side the next morning. Maybe I'll have my serving of meat during the day so that it digests better and have a more nutritional meal in the evening.. and definitely we need to keep the prayer in the recipe because we all know that's the number 1 ingredient ***smile** thanks for your thoughts and happy mylotting.

I can't call myself a morning person.
I wake up with messed hair .. and oil ready to drop off my face.
and bad breath and back ache some times well usual times!!
I don't like to work in morning i always hate to going to school early morning.
And now I hate going to collage early morning.
Apart from getting my self cleaned and having a break fast I don't like doing anything.
But since last two months I am trying to shape up a little bit.
So I wake up at 5 am in the morning and go for jogging.. though I sometimes go back to sleep right after it.
I am still trying adjust with it..
Let see.

I did make it for around 2 months...
But I should tell you its still not easy and I don't think that it will ever get easy for me.
I do have corrected my body clock.. but it takes almost nothing to change back to a lazy one.
But believe me its the actually the weather here that is really not letting me continue!
I used to get up at 5am only so that I could find a cool weather but it is so unbelievably hot here!!
But I am still trying lets see.

Wow Stella good luck with that. Waking up at 5 am and jogging is a big change from the regular morning slug LOL. You've been doing it for two months now that's excellent I doubt I would make it the first 10 minutes I'm such a turtle LOL.
Good luck and please let me know if your mornings get easier **smile**

I love to wake up in the early hours of the day...I would love to take a walk in breath in the fresh air, it's such a quite beautiful time. However, I am also a night person, and love the walks in the night air, staying up to watch a good movie, or playing on the computer. Therefore my mornings pass by me, because I go to sleep too late at night. I guess we can't have both.

Oh, this is a new word to me "Morning Person". Well, I am not!! On the contrary, if there's an antonym to it then I am a "Night Person", lol!! Actually, I sleep late nights around 2-3 am. So, I get up late at around 9:30 or even 10 am. And when I get up, I feel even more sleepy!! It takes more than 3-4 hours for me to completely gain momentum and energy!!

OMG exactly like me! Even if I try to go to sleep at 10 p.m. I lay there forever it seems like and then if I'm lucky I get to sleep at 1 or 2 A.M. and wake up like you more sleepy.
Ok so now I have two theories,..
1: Is the food we eat the night before making us the sluggish people we are in the morning?
2: Our sleep pattern definitely seems to play a role in our lack of energy in the morning thus making is " night people " LOL.

Yea, I think the food we eat is causing this problem. And this insomnia becomes a major problem for me during my exams and sometimes I have to go for a quarter of sleeping pill just so that don't bang my head on table during my exam, Lol!!

Hi olydove,
I don't think I am a morning person.
Instead, I think I am more of a night person. I tend to "wake up" at night and I feel I have more energy at night at weird hours than throughout the morning or afternoon.
Cheers!

No, not really. I am usually asleep in the morning because i stay up late at night. I would end up sleeping early in the morning just because of my online obligations. I would wake up somewhere between 10am and 11am. So that's the few hours left before noon strikes. Maybe in high school, you can say i'm a morning person because i would be awake a early as 5am.

Same here. I am not also a morning person because I hate the the sun and the heat. But since I have school, I am forced to wake up in the morning. What I usually do to "wake myself up" is I listen to fast music (techno or hip hop). I don't depend much on coffee because I don't like the effect of caffeine.

hi there, well cerainly i share the same episode as you. I am not a morning person at all either. Well it boggles my mind sometimes when i started thinking how people actually wake up like so early in the morning and seem like the can take on a bull coming. Well this certainly does not work for me at all. I have tried waking up numerous times in the morning even setting up an alarm. But it does not make it any better. It actually makes me feel even worst. well i need to like sleep for about until maybe 12pm and then i would feel good the whole day. Well maybe i sleep late at about three or four in the morning sometimes. But even when i sleep early i still cant wake up at seven in the morning or six in the morning and feel so good and refreshed. I certainly think it is a individual thing and how people feel towards it. But as for me, i am preety sure i am not a morning person. Anyway have a nice day and happy mylotting.
best regards,
alvingb

Not at all. I'm terrible at waking up in the morning and I would much prefer the night time. I just love to stay up to like 4 AM, and I hate waking up at like 6 AM. Even with coffee, mornings still seem to get the best of me. I'd say to wake up with more energy, go to bed earlier. If you get more sleep you have more energy. I wake up still asleep.

Hi olydove, I'm not a morning person either, I have to have coffee or tea and sit to think a while before I'm ready for the day. I've noticed that if I do a few, slow strething calisthenics that it helps my foggy head. Or a walk on the property with the fresh morning air. But I can't leap into anything fast paced for sure. I hope this helps.

Hey, I'm just like you but it takes more around 10 minutes for me to wake up but even then I still feel sleepy. More than half the time I find myself sleeping in class which I know isn't good but I can't help it. But as the time go like to around 12:00pm I start feeling awake. Now summer is here and the best part is that I can sleep for as long as I want lol.

I guess i am the morning person after all since i am always eager to get up in the morning to start off the day.As for me as soon as the clock strikes 6 i will automatically arise from bed and wont feel sleepy anymore.Music will be my companion every morning to aid me to get into the mood of doing something.I am always eager to get up to do something in the morning and i am always full of energy and only by evening then i would start to feel a little tired but not that tiring yet.Usually by 12 i will start to feel sleepy and i only takes 6 hours sleep a day and i think it is sufficient enough though.

Nope. I never have the habit of waking up early in the morning. I always go to bed late at night and wake up around 8.30 or 9 Pm and it takes a minimum time of 15 minutes to go to brush my teeth from bed and I feel energetic only during the noon hours. Till then I will always be sleepy and sick. I would like to be called myself a morning person but the fact is I am a Night owl and not an early lark. Thanks for starting such a good discussion as I have always been curious to know about the sleeping habilts of other people and it is quite heartening to see many are of my kind. I mean many people in this forum hate to get up early in the morning. Moreover, if it is a weekend, then my wake up time would be definitely a minimum around 10.30 Am and I wish everyday is a sunday so that I can have a hearty sleep and get up very late in the morning:)

I am a active person in the weekdays -no need of coffee to wake up. I will just get from bed and wash my face and within few seconds , I will be fresh. But in the weekends, I am so much inactive. Generally, in weekends I will wake up only at 9am. It will take nearly 12am to be active.
