Hello harshrosicky! When you start making money, you're just making money. Once you're making the money that you need to meet your basic needs, anything you make above that is extra money. You can't start out making extra money if you don't already have the money you need. For me, I use the sites that don't pay out much for extra money. I'm working on building an income with my home based business.

Are you referring to the 2 (almost the same) discussion picks here on Mylot?
If so I agree it is confusing because they are so much the same thing.
If not then you should think about "making money" to help out your parents, after all you are eating food, using the water and the electric which they have to pay for.
Then whatever you have left will be extra money for yourself. I know they would appreciate it even if they say they don't need it. It will make you feel better about yourself knowing you are paying your way. Or you could save it for when you go off to college to help pay for your books and/or rent.

I BELIEVE U SAID YOU WERE 18. BOTH MY SONS had jobs way before they were your age. Why haven't u already made some spending money instead of waiting for your parents to hand it out to you. U need to get more independant & quit relying on them at your age.

I consider making any money over what you need to live off is extra money. So if your parents pay for your living expenses any money you make would be "extra money". Hope that helps!
