To Wear or Not To Wear Makeup...

I personally haven't worn makeup in many years. When I was younger I instinctively knew how to put on makeup that made it look natural and yet complimentary. Now, at the age of 51, everytime I try to put makeup on it takes way too long and by the time I'm finished I look like a street walker. My skin is starting to get blotchy (I think it's a bit of rosacea) and I need to find something to cover it up, at least a little. Fortunately, I was surprised the other day when I received a large sample container in the mail of Simply Ageless; a foundation that CoverGirl and Olay went in together on. As a volunteer BzzAgent, I on occasion get to try new products that have either just hit the stores or haven't quite yet made it there. I get to keep them and give my honest opinion about the product as well as spread word-of-mouth to friends, family, etc. I was so happy to get this in the mail that I tried it right away. I was feeling pretty badly about how my skin was starting to look and this alleviated my worries. I read how to put it on (didn't have to use much, thank goodness) and I couldn't believe the difference. I don't even need to wear anything else if I don't want, other than blush for a little color in the cheeks area. Not sure if it's out in the stores yet. It comes in a round, see-through plastic container and it has a swirl in the middle of the foundation. It contains Olay Regenerist Serum, that acts as a textural and color equalizer. It gives me even coverage from very different transformations; going from cream to liquid to cream again. It has a combination of waxes specially chosen to melt at skin temperature which lets it glide across the skin without dragging and it fills in all the creases and lines. Instead of making me look older like the other foundations I've tried in the past, this has made me look at least 5 years younger. If this has reached the stores in anyone's areas let me know if you've seen it or if anyone has also used it and what you/they think about it. Have a Great Day..! - The Lady who feels pretty again...-

This is in the stores. It did interest me. I will have to say, however, that I do not like the spokesperson for the product and that is my personal choice. As a result I never bought any of the product. I have been seeing it around for over a year. I like Aveeno positively radiant SPF30 tinted moisturizer. It seems to make me almost look like my skin has a pearly glow. I have always liked Olay and Cover Girl, just do not care for the spokes person. I am glad this product is doing what you need for your skin. I am sure it feels really good as well.

When a commercial comes on with someone my mom can't stand she'll boldly say outloud for all to hear, "I can't stand her/him, or I hate her/him." I say to her, "Mom, how can you feel that way when you don't even know them?" Then she'll tell me that she heard something about the person, etc. "It amazes me that you believe everything you hear on the tube or read, mom." She makes me laugh. Not saying anything against you, Gerty... But I just can't see not trying a product just because of the spokesperson.

Perhaps it is my excuse not to spend a big chunk of money, either, or buy into the aging is ugly train of thought. I can agree it sounds foolish, my mom had certain prejudices about all kinds of people and country music and a lot of other things. I just have the occasional lapse into her persona. On the other hand I like country music, and love to listen to Tennessee Ernie Ford, whom she hated. Just not going to try the product at this time.

I completely understand that, Gerty...My mom is the same way; she hates Country Music, where I love it, or at least most of it and I also enjoy Tennessee Ernie Ford. I also understand not wanting to try the product at this time or perhaps never; I was just giving my opinion on it and asking for others and you gave me yours...I appreciate that. Thank you so much.
