I am allergic to several things. For sure, Dial soaps! Then there are the general allergies to different types of flowering plants. Certain perfumes take my breath away in a bad sort of way as does hair sprays and room fresheners! That's about it for me, but my daughter is allergic to band-aids and medical tape! She was also allergic to diapers when she was a baby. I used every brand of disposable diaper there was back then! She also broke out behind the snaps on her pj's!
How about you what's the "weirdest" thing you or someone you know is allergic to?

When my son was a 8 months old, I found out that he was allergic to bread.. Well thats what I thought it was.. Then he was starting to react to milk.. Then it was suggested that he was allergic to yeast.. So I would get the milk that was lactose intalorint.. That worked for awhile then the rashes came back.. Now I know that he is allergic to yeast. He can drink regular milk now, but can not eat bread.. He still reacts to it.

I am allergic to menthool. Menthol make me sneeze just like allergens such as dust and strong scents. Eating menthol candies can give me upset stomach. I've noticed it a lot of times and i thought it's just me overreacting but i'm not. It does work against me. So as much as possible, i try to stay away from anything that's menthol. I'm just glad menthol soap don't make me itch. lol! But still i have to stay away from it because of the smell.

I haven't heard of anyone being allergic to menthol before. I do know someone who had asthma attacks when they were little and they actually were allergic to the medicines that were put in the humidifier to help them breathe!
I haven't heard of menthol soap.. any special benefits to it?

I am allergic to just about any airborne allergen. I sneeze repeatedly throughout the day for no apparent reason. And not just one or two sneezes, but usually seven or nine at a time.
I am allergic to Tide detergent. It makes me itch uncontrollably.
I am sensitive to the gloves we use at work. If I leave them on too long, I get terrible welts on my hands.
Some of the people use spray deodorant after the bathroom, it makes me sneeze uncontrollably.

One of my sisters is very allergic to the gloves she was using at work. It turns out it's the powder stuff that they are treated with. She can get certain kinds that are not treated and she does okay. Can you take anything that helps but won't put you to sleep?

Whoa!! Paprika? That is reallyinteresting. Isn't paprika a sort of pepper? I know my daughter can use some sort of band-aids. I thnk it is not the glue for her but what they make the band-aid out of... although it coul be he glue! I think she can use the latex free ones or may be that she can only wear the latex ones... I can't remember!
Stay away from paprika!!

hello macdingolinger
I'm allergic to air condition flows , as soon as I enter a room with air condition in it , the cold flow from the condition make me allergic immediately , I start to sneeze and my eyes become tearful ..
the worst thing that in Jordan we have a hot summer , and most of the places have air conditions !!!
I try to keep anti-histamine pills with me always , so whenever I feel that am going to have allergy I take a pill , its action is delayed but it is better than nothing
have a good time

I would wonder if it was the filter systems, but since it's all kinds of different places that's out! Maybe it's the freon that they use to chill the air or something? What about air conditioning in a vehicle, does it bother you as well?

For some reason I get allergic reactions if I eat avocado or bananas. What happens is after I eat them my lips tend to become swollen for some time then it gets irritating. Other than that I don't have any serious allergies. On your part though I guess your skin is sensitive to types of ingredients that are found in those products you've mentioned. Kind of weird to say.

I don't think I have any specific food allergies. I'm glad it's not bananas or avocados! I enjoy both of those!
Yeah, my skin seems very sensitive to man-made junk mostly!

I had a friend whose daughter was allergic to everything too like calk dust. She was even allergic to soaps and shampoos. Turned out she was allergic to glycerin which is in almost everything! She had to buy certain kinds of soaps, shampoos and oral hygiene supplies. She couldn't take capsules either as there is glyerin in the gel sometines!
I can't imagine if I developed an allergy to coffee!! My life would end! Luckily there are many teas available without caffiene!

I am also allergic to plasters (band aids)I found this out after having a serve reaction to one.
I also seem to be allergic to most cleaning products even when wearing rubber gloves especially oven cleaner. I also have to use non-biologial washing liquid as biological ones make me come out in a rash even touching clothes that have been washed in it cause my hands to break out.
One of my friends is allergic to snow apparently it is the ions in the snow that she is allergic to if the snow touches her skin she will swell up.

I have some trouble with a lot of cleaning products as well. I try to use as natural of a product as I can find. I cannot imagine being allergic to snow! Maybe it is the ions as you said, but maybe it is possible that she is allergc to some of the stuff it picks up as it comes through our polluted atmosphere!

My weirdest allergy is grass and trees. It's not really bad, I can go outside but if I'm outside for a while the eyes start to water. My friend got married outside in a park and my eyes started watering before the wedding even started. I had to keep telling everyone it's my allergies I wasn't crying because of the wedding... yet.

This one time my father put wood stain on some windows in our house. My nose immediately starting acting up once I got into the kitchen. (He stained the windows in the room next to it.) I felt a pain like needles in my nose, and it started running really badly. So yeah, for some reason I'm allergic to wood stain. I don't know why, though...

man, it is so funny how something can start to bother you so fast! I hadn't heard of wood stain allergies yet. My son did always have an asthma attack each time we cut and hung sheet rock though! Thanks for sharing!

I wouldn't say I'm allergic to anything that I can really pinpoint but maybe this falls in the weird category. I'm allergic to pepper. When others are eating food without any reaction to the pepper my eyes would be watery and my nose runny.

Are you allergic to black pepper or white pepper or red pepper or just any kind of peppers?

lol! I never thought of "goose bumps" as an allergic reaction! But you may something worthy of scientific study there! I always used the nails screeching on the board thing to keep my class from getting out of control. It took me a long time to get over the sound so that I could use it against them!

I am so allergic to dust, a little dust could make me sneeze for the entire day and it's really frustrating and I hate it BUT that is not weird at all, i know some people who are having the same kind of allergies. I do have some "weird" kind of allergy though. I am allergic to my own hair. I mean I have long hair now but I don't ever let it loose. I just recently found out about it but my mom knew about it for a long time, she just thought it went a way as I got older. During my childhood years, I never had long hair, my mom always cut them really short like a boy's hair. And i always wondered why, now I know. I recently had my hair rebonded and let it lose for a couple of weeks when I noticed a lot of pimple like stuff growing on the sides of my face, they were very itchy and I thought they were pimples but just too many. I kept hiding them with my hair but my mom noticed. She then told me the story of why I never had long hair when I was a kid.
Since then I never let my hair loose again. And never will,

I'd have to say the weirdest thing I am allergic to is herbal tea. I'm not kidding, it's even written in my hospital report. I don't notice it all that much. Having an allergic reaction to one thing or another happens to me on a daily basis. I'm also allergic to a certain brand of chewing gum. I start sneezing just seconds after putting it in my mouth.
