i have trouble getting stains out too, i have hard water so that makes it twice as bad to get things out.

I have never used Spray and Wash. I am an avid Shout user. Is spray and wash comparable to shout?

There really are alot out there that work. One thing you need to remember is soaking them and not letting the stain set and once you wash the item don't put it in the dryer or hang them on the line to dry until you have removed the stain. Doing this will cause the stain to set in and will be permanent. I used to use Tide, clorox, oxyclean, gain, wisk but the best I think is actually the detergents for baby's. They really work hard but protect the fibers of the clothing. I will let you in on a little secret though. I have a water treatment and purifaction system and that is what worked for us. I can't believe the amount of time I've saved in cleaning and the money I've saved by having it. Check it out at Rainsoft.com. What do you think is the worst stain to get out? I think red coolaid is the worst.

Coke does work on grease stains.I had some friends that were into car racing and they used coke to remove the oil from their uniforms. I use dawn dish detergent on a lot of stains. There is something in dish soap that makes water wetter and alows the detergent to do it's job.

The best I have found is the one by Clorox. They make an excellent stain remover. It got out things from when my neice was a baby and toddler. It got out everything. The next best is the Oxy Clean ones. Those can really get some stains out as well. I know how hard it is to get some things out and I wish you luck with it.

I use Arm & Hammer detergent, or All. Before I wash the clothes I will use the stain remover stick on the stains. You can also use the clorox2 for colors, along with the stain remover sticks, and the stains comes out. I also have to use the special detergent that I have to wash my husband's Army uniforms in. Only good thing with that, I don't have to iron them.

Actually I use Vanish. It is a type of stain remover which doesn't fade the color of our clothes. What I did was, I will pour two caps full of Vanish into a basin filled with water. Then I will soak the clothes for one night. The next day I put the clothes into my washing machine and let it do the rest of the laundry job. I hope there are some Vanish available at your local store.

Good morning (or evening as the case may be). Hydrogen peroxide is a great stain remover and is all natural! No toxic fumes or things that are bad for the environment! It works especially good on any orgainc stain...such as blood, grass, etc. We nurses used it for years on those white uniforms! Good luck with your stain removal!

For, me I normally use gain liquid detergent. Whenever I have a tough stain, for example, sharpie permanent ink, I try to shout it out first! I spray the product on and then i will use an old toothbrush to work the product into fabric working from the outside of the stain inward (the prevent spreading). Most of the time, I can get it all out once washed.
However, I have also got the same results using the cheap laundry detergent (Extra) and Shout.
I have used some type of oxy clean. I used it on my carpet to remove a grape juice stain (the worse!). I was left with a bleached-looking area in the carpet. Not a very smart idea whenever you are a renter! I even tried it on one of the infamous (at my house) sharpie incidents. It did not remove it all.
I have found that when I add oxy clean to my white clothes or towels when washed, that they appear to be brighter than if I used bleach!

I use this thing that has shout on one side and oxy cleaner on the other.. I had so many stained clothes in a bag that I was just using as rags, and then my mother bought this dual action stuff and told me it worked great.. now I have the clothes back, and that stuff is ALWAYS in my laundry cabinet.

I like to use tide, I don't know if it is the best but it works pretty good for me.
