She's interested in make-up already!

My daughter is going to be 6 next month. And she told me at lunch today that she is wanting to wear makeup. I of course told her no. She is way too young. I also gave her the timeline when she would be allowed to wear makeup. 13. I did however purchase a clear Bonnie Bell lip gloss for her. She felt so grown up. Would you have gotten the lip gloss?

I think lip gloss is FINE!!! I would have loved to be 6 and be able to wear lip gloss!! The only thing is next time when she needs more you may want to consider getting her Neauties. It's all natural, so it's safe for her to eat and whatever else she may do! It'll taste good if she does eat some. My baby cousin ate almost a whole container of the cherry and they had to really take it away from him!! They have Cherry, Peppermint, Original, and Strawberry. I have them all and they are all GREAT! The Original even tastes good because it's made with a little bit of honey! If it were my daughter I wouldn't want her to use the bold colored stuff! This is just clear... but I think a light pink or any light color would be fine too. Plus, with this stuff the more she puts on the shinyer it gets, and it acts as a ChapStick or Carmex. It heals and protects your lips. I really like it and I'm 15, so I'm sure she will!! :)

I think your daughter is a cute little girl and also I guess it's just normal for that age to get curious what does it feel like to wear make up. Just keep in explaining to her that she's still very young for make-ups.

Yes, the lip gloss is fine. You may also want to consider introducing her to things like sunscreen and lotion after she bathes, protect her skin from the sun and establish good habits to keep her skin looking nice as she gets older.

I think the lip gloss is fine for her age. My daughter wanted to wear makeup at that age also. They try to grow up too quick these days LOL. I am glad she accepts the age of 13 though and settled for the lip gloss.

Girls are always girls:) I smile when you said that your daughter is interested in makeup. I think we were the same when we were at her age:) Such as wearing mother's high heels etc. I love China

Well, yes I would have (though I am not a parent...) but I would have gotten her Neauties. It's clear and it's all natural, so it's good for her to lick and eat (plus it tastes really good too!!). They use flavoring that you actually put in your food!! They have Cherry, Peppermint, Original, and Strawberry. I like the Cherry and Peppermint the best (I have them all!), but for her I would say Strawberry or Cherry because she is little!! :) My little sister uses it and she likes them all, but she's going to 5th grade! I would feel grown up if I were her too!! I didn't get to wear lip gloss till 4th grade, but I don't see a problem with letting her wear clear lip gloss now!! :)

I can't speak from experience as my daughter is such a tomboy, but I think that the lip gloss would be ok. It's a compromise. Not really make up, but makeup enough to keep her happy. To me lip loss and lip balm are fine for little girls. I just don't like seeing little girls with mascara, eyeliner, eye shadow ect.

Wearing makeup around the house when playing dress up is one thing, but not out of the house. I think I would have gotten her the lip gloss as well. My daughter loves nail polish. She will occasionally try to get into grandma's lipstick, but that is about it.

I think they are just the cutest at this age. They just want to be like MOMMY. I use to have time with my daughters at this age and we would make eachother up and play tea party. It was explained that it is okay for playtime but not out in public. The clear lip gloss was a wonderful idea and gave your daughter such joy! My daughters even made Daddy up when he fell asleep on the couch lol
