My age is 35 and i still have a piggy bank.If i get any coin as a change i drop it in my piggy bank.I open it only once in a year.On January first i will open and spend it for buying some gift.Mylot is another piggy bank for me.After accumulating 10 dollars,we are getting the payment from them.A penny saved is a penny earned". In today's world, a penny accumulated here and there doesn't sound like much, especially with the cost of living continuously rising, but surprisingly enough you can save money by holding onto that loose change. The key to using a money box or piggy bank to increase your savings is to do something with it once you raise significant dollar amounts.depositing change into your money box can prove lucrative over the course of time, it won't necessarily make you rich, but before you know it you're likely to find your piggy bank having a healthy expansion and this happened without impacting any money you needed to meet monthly expenses. Saving change is a neat way to find money for the "extras" that you normally wouldn't spend money on. A good rule of thumb is to tally your treasure every so often and then go deposit it into an interest earning account to maximize your savings if you weren't waiting to buy something specific. Once the savings deposits funds grow you can find better ways to invest or add to other investments you may have.Plus it's fun to realize you accomplished saving money with little effort. If you have kids, it teaches them the value of a dollar and how saving and not splurging every time they have extra money can yield some nice benefits

Hi friend i am 23 years old and i have the same practice as you. I usually save some money in my piggy bank and it is very helpful in my needs. You can't go to bank to deposit 50, 60 cents or even 1 dollar every day. So you must have a piggy bank in your home so that you can save some money everyday and it will be very helpful in your needs. I am able to save around 20 to 65 dollars every month. Which is not that much huge amount but it is god for some small shopping.

hey, what ever change i have or coins i have i put in the piggy bank and soon they become big enough and i usually take out the money when it is full and i cant insert coins inside anymore. I dont think the money saving thing should only be for the kids and not for the adults. every single penny counts and u rightly said , a penny saved is a penny earned and well my dad once said, rich is not the person who earns more but rich is the person who saves more.

I have always used a piggy bank and I bought my daughter one before she was ever born. I have shown her how to save money also but she spends it sometimes when she wants something special.

we still put all our loose change in a containter too. we too use it for fun things for the family to do like going to a museum or going out for ice cream. why not do that with loose change or money that you are trying to save?

Hmmm.. I don't think piggy bank works for me, even though as a young kid I used to do that.. I just get frustrated when I don't fill the piggy bank because I usually spend those coins for candies.. =|

I still keep a piggy bank with me. All of those coins that makes my purse heavy goes to may piggy bank. We tend to take coins for granted. But after some time these coins accumulate to a large amount. All great things come from small beginnings. I also put my coins in the bank when it has accumulated into a large amount so it will earn interest.

I place all my loose change in a "piggy bank" and let the scraps pile up until I need some extra cash. I also try my best to spend/save my money wisely. If I have 40 dollars I'll try to save 15. Saving money is about accumulating worth over time. Most people become inpatient and spend their money before it can amount to anything. As I once told my friend, people like to live on the red line.
