hi, mylotters. I am confused now, and i don't know how to make a choice. If there is another job which will pay you more money, say one third more than your present job's payment, but not that interesting than you current job, what will you do? Would you accept the offer for a better payment job but more boring one? Give me your reason, thanks in advance.

Hi Tuanshun, First of all I would suggest you what is your aim in long run, and if you can achieve it in the current company then stay with it, sooner or later your pay will be incremented. Personally I would do the job which gives more satisfaction to me rather than money. But at the same time money is also important, so if you can get a good hike in your new job , you can join it and stay there for some time and search for a job which gives you satisfaction. In that way when you will switch from existing one, to your job which satisfies you, you will get both the things, satisfaction, as well as hike. But the whole decision depends on your experience level. Let me know if you have more queries. will be glad to help you or advice you.

Hi Babshish, much thanks for your kindly response. That's really helpful to me. You're right, maybe i'll follow your advice and switch to the new job and search for satisfaction, then i'll get both better payment and hike.

If the job is 'not that interesting' yet it pays more than my current job, I guess I would take it given the situation that I'm currently in. I'm a newly-crowned breadwinner of my family and I'm trying to support no more than ten people (take note: there are two families living at home - in our family house - and I don't even live there with them). It's just a matter of knowing nd setting your priorities. If you're in the same position as I am, you'll prioritize making both ends meet for you and your family, so you'd look for a decent job that pays more, never mind if it's boring or what. But if you're on your own and you're not experiencing any financial issues, then just look for a job that you'd enjoy doing, no matter how much it pays.

Thank you, Personaave. You got the point, and as you said, i would take the better payment job, cos of the financial crisis, we have no better choice to make but to make as much money as possible.

I give my answer with this caveat: My last job, I was with the company since 1997, and was fired 2009. It is the longest running job I ever had in my life. The last five years, they started to change job responsibilities, and my job changed to something I was not good at, so eventually I got bad ratings, and instead of being laid off, I was fired for "unacceptable performance" or something like that. And later I find out that, six months later, a lot of people are no longer there. Fortunately I have a lot of money saved up so I am looking into job opportunities that are more in line with what I really want to do (writing would be a fantasy job for me - only made $20 with mylot so far ... I wonder how fast I can write a novel? (and sell it) Personally, I will not take a job where I need to call customers on the phone (the last "enhancement" my last employer had me do to save money, instead of having dedicated personnel doing it) - I am not good at it, and I was fired for not doing it adequately. It wasn't required when I was hired, but - tough luck. Do you need the money? Are you able to do what the new job requires? I'm looking for something now I enjoy doing. But I have money to wait for a position I enjoy doing. Is it the same with you? Then wait for that position. Do you need money now? Are you able to do the new job functions? Do you have a plan to get out as soon as you have the resources to do what you really want to do? There are just too many variables to answer your question...

Hi, Qaeyious, that's so kind of you to give me advice with your story. I think I got much of your idea, and i'll take your advice. yeah, I need money right now, but the way ahead i choose matters much more than anything else. Actually, i do like the job which i want to switch. Anyway, i'll think it over again. Maybe i'm not that qualified to do the new job well just as you said. Thank you so much. my friend.

For me, I will choose the well paid one, because of my existing economic situation . I need money, I am in debt right now. I think you can switch to the well paid one and stay at there for a while, then hunt for another job which paid well and also interesting. I love China!

it will depend on how much I need the money.I will accept that boring job if I badly need the money, but I will still stick with my interesting job.I'll take part-time jobs of my interesting job.it will really depend on how much you needed a larger pay.you have to think which is more important to you and the consequences of your choice.
