Adsense to Earn?

Hi. I have a blog going on blogspot. How can I get more visitors and more hits here? I am getting around only 10 daily and that too with the help of traffic generating sites. My blog is particularly cricket based. How can I get ads from such companies so that I can earn more? And yes, at what rate does Adsense pay us? My balance in Adsense is just not getting updated though the hits are increasing.
