well, the movie is mainly addressesed to kids saying that they should always obey their parents. but the movie is more about the ocean - kids will learn to appreciate the diversity of creatures that we rarely see and how these creatures are all endangered by the pollution we put on the seas.

Hi Alurpawan,
I am happy that you have started this discussion on Nemo. I have discussed about "Finding Nemo" long back and i got too many responses. I really feel that the movie is not only for entertainment but gives us a message about getting solutions when we are in difficult times. The little nemo is very active and the tactics played by him make kids to develop their own strategy.
I have seen the movie too many times and still don't get bored to watch it again and again. Director of the movie made the plot very carefully and the picture is drawn neatly. The movie is very well animized with cute characters. I love NEMO very much.
keep smiling and happy mylotting :)

I watched the movie too several times. I really like it not just because of the good drawings (which are based on real reef fishes) but also because of the lessons we can get. The movie tells the children to always obey their parents because the parents will do everything they can for their kids. At the same time, it also advises the parents to learn how to let go and let their kids learn life.
The movie does not only speak of children and parents relationship. It only shows how friendship grows even between unlike personalities - Martin and Dory for example.
In a subtle way, by showing how beautiful the underwater world are and that there are living creatures out there, the movie also made people aware that we have to take care of our environment.

I got quite the different message. The message I got from the movie is that sometimes we as parents can be over protective and by doing so we aren't allowing our children to learn, and grow in every way possible. By being over protective and not allowing our children to adventure if we keep telling them they " can't " do it then one of two things will happen, either they will begin to believe they can't and therefor never try, or they will rebel and do it anyways but when they do it out of rebellion they do it without thinking it through so dangerous things can happen.
At the end when Nemo was trying to save all the fish in the net his dad didn't want him to go in there because he wanted to protect him and keep him from getting hurt, but then he realized he needed to trust his son and let him try so that his son would know that yes he is strong and he can do things just like others can.
