I was wondering if people use myLot as a place to actually put their written work on? I have lots of poetry and stories I have written over the years and although I consider most of it to be rubbish, I have had some positive feedback from friends and family about my work. Also, does anyone know any websites that may pay you for a written piece that isnt a review? i'm not brilliant at reviews, but am better at actual stories or poems...am also good at steamy romances but not sure where they would be accepted lol! Any ideas/suggestions as to where to turn next? I dont mind if I'm only paid pennies for them, because pennies add up.

I mentioned this to somebody else here as well: I do not recommend posting your work in a public forum such as this. There are many people who will happily steal your work and claim it as their own.
A good friend of mine had her entire blog plagerized! She was able to fix the problem, but just the fact that it happened was scary.
There are many places you can publish your work at that will help you to protect it while letting others see and critique it. If you are looking to publish your work and make some good money, look into some poetry markets. A book like the "Writer's Market Guide" will help you find some places to submit to. Also, if your poetry is short and heartfelt, you could look into submitting it to some greeting card companies like "Blue Mountain Arts."
I have two blogs that may give you some more advice, and I would really suggest you visit my friend Bianca Raven's blog. She has actually listed places where you can sell your work to, including markets for poetry and steamy romances. :)

I've seen some poets put their short works on here with a question header asking for comments and criticism. The amount of responses you would get from doing that would not likely be very high, but if you make alot of "friends" on here who like to read and comment on poetry it might start paying of. As a "friend" they will get a notice every time you post.
I am not familiar with other sites that pay but you can always post blogs containing your work and ask for comments to be added. Hopefully others on here will be able to direct you to other sites.
Good Luck!
