Are these MyLot tasks legitimate

I went to tasks on MyLot just now and it turns out that all of the tasks out there were put out by regular users, people like me who participate in discussions and post discussion tops. They also want you to go to sites and sign up there and complete participation requirements. I won't do that. It sounds wrong to me and not up to the usual myLot standards. Has anyone else noticed this? Where is SharonBucks? What is your take?

We did have an alert about that a short while ago, my friend. They feel it will improve the tasks area. I haven't actually looked in there yet, but if it's as bad as you say, then I might not! lol. Brightest Blessings.

Yes, I went and had a look at them, and they're not for me either. I'm not prepared to put effort into something, or join a site for 8-10 cents. I'm afraid this method of task setting is going to be abused, and subsequently, fail.

The SharonBucks task are cool, if you write they pay well and are legit. These tasks submitted by the users are ones where they make more money than we do and we have to give someone an email address. Not for me at all.

I saw the new "task" thing but have not even begun to figure out how it works.

It is simple, you do what they ask and get paid for it. I tend to be selective about the tasks I pick though.

I have never even done any of the task..When they first came out i looked at them, and they did not seem interesting to me, so i have never looked at them again...

A few of the tasks have interested me..which is why I did them. I hope that a few more of them do. When you write a few paragraphs for $2, it can really pay off. They are worth looking at though.

myLot started this 'tasks' thing while I was away from myLot and since being back I've checked it several times but haven't yet done one of the tasks. I've read other people made good money off them but the ones I saw weren't worth my effort - I'd rather collect my penny here and penny there just from responding to discussions.

I do the ones where you write a few paragraphs, I usually make $2 in about a 1/2 hour. I have been happy with that.

That's not too bad - I'll keep watching them when time permits.

That is new, I have not seen that. I have only done one task so far, and that was to find alternate words for a certain word. I did get paid for doing it so it was a legitimate task. But it sounds kind of fishy what you are describing. I didn't think that tasks had anything to do with signing up for stuff.

Someone explained that users can now put up tasks, so that would explain the change. I don't know about you but I don't sign up for stuff that will generate email and that is what these things usually do. I hope that people don't blame mylot when they do this ..it would tarnish the good reputation of a good site.

i just do the writing tasks and have had all of my work approved except for 2 so I am very lucky. I received my first payment last friday so I know it is legit. I am not sure about the other tasks though as I have never tried them.

Yes...I have done I think 9 tasks and all were approved but they were submitted by Sharon Bucks...these were submitted by users and the pay was very low...like .08 and you needed to fulfill all requirements. Sounds like those websites that promise a free notebook computer but all offers must be accepted.

I always forget about the tasks, thanks for the reminder about them. I haven't checked on them in a long time.

I try to check them because I have done well with the few I have submitted. These looked wrong though!

I looked at the tasks when they were first out. I didn't care for them so I've nevre really gotten into them. I did just look at them to see what you meant, and it does just look like a huge referral place.

I just noticed some tasks available there but didn't check yet, I'm thinking that mylot allows users to post tasks as well - I think I read something about it, or maybe not I have been sick so I can be confused. Will be interesting to read the answers to this discussion

It is true, users can now post. When I read the requirements, it did not seem worth it to me.

Not to me either. If I wanted to be a part of those sites I would have before.

Many tasks are not legitimate. They put so many conditions as if they are the dictators and for a reward that is not worth the time. what I want to tell here is , job providers, please think of the precious time of the workers, please don't waste their time.

I've noticed the tasks on and off but I've not yet done any. I don't think I would for because I find the tasks kind of a bit time consuming. I'd rather enjoy discussions, but who knows if someday, I might be interested.;)

Hi Debs_place, I have never done this tasks and most of the time its never available so I don't bother with it at all, but what you are saying, I don't think that is right and don't know wh is Sharon Bucks as she is on all our friends list. Tamara

SharonBucks is the myLot admin person who is responsible for creating the tasks that myLot offers directly. I assume she was added to all friends lists because it can facilitate communication. Since you can't send a private message to someone if they are not on your friends list, it would be difficult to contact her, as task creator, to ask for clarification or information if we were not friended with SharonBucks.

Oh my God!! Are you saying, all those people signing up for them on those waste sites won't be paid??!! Seems, you are very senior on myLot. Can you tell me, the person who initiates these tasks has full authority to reject the submitted ones?? I mean, what if we sign up correctly and submit the task. Can he reject them?? That would be unfair!!

I have no idea, the payout was small any how and I would be more concerned about spam and more junk mail than the payout.

I'm a newbie here at mylot. thanks for your post. in my opinion we must contact the admin to give us some answer to this problem just to clear it out. This is not good for us if this really happening.
