Have you ever brushed your teeth while taking a shower??????? I've never heard of that before but have been told that it's common when you are in the miltary. Do you? Have you? Do you know anyone that does?
And the hot and cold water thing...Which one do you use? (Obviously if it's in the shower its going to be atleast warm) lol
I guess I have too much time on my hands to think of silly things like this, but I'm just curious.
Have a great day and thanks for taking the time to read/respond. ;~)

i guess showers in the military are because things are done qickly, but i would never do it because you might spit on yourself lol. I prefer cold water anyway because its more refreshing and mouthwash isn't heated up.

I have never brushed in the shower before and would have never even thought about it. I did not know they do that in the military but I do know they do things fast so I guess they learn to save every minute they can. As far as the water temperature, I usually use cold water but on occasion I'll use warm water, never hot water.

I prefer cold water also. I will use warm or tempid if I have a toothache or something like that. I'm still just shocked that someone would prefer to brush in the shower, ha.

Personally I think it is quite hard to scrub your body with one hand and brush with the other simultaneously. If I do brush while showering, it is still a one after another thing i.e. I might enjoy having the water run over my body while brushing away.

Hi Stephanie,
Sure I have brushed my teeth while taking a shower.
However, I only do that occasionally. I normally brush my teeth separately ahead or after my shower.
In the military over here, most if not all do things separately too. We bathe in cubicles and the space is only good for a shower. To brush, I would think it is better to do so at the basins with all the mirrors around.
At home, I normally shower with warm water. When I return to the army, well, there is no heating service. I just shower with the only water available. Sometimes it is warm due to the weather and that's cool. But we perspire more because of physical activities in the military so cool water feels neat enough too.

I brush my teeth always with not so much cold water, because our teeth is very sensitive, if you wash it with hot your teeth would feel broken and feels sensitive, whether cold or hot water that you use, be careful when you wash your teeth, to protect it with damage and spoilage, and maintain a fresh white teeth.

I have never actually thought of brushing my teeth while having a shower and I have never discussed it with anybody so I can't really say that I know anybody who does...although, now that you have mentioned it, I will probably ask around. Personally, I prefer to use warm water when brushing my teeth as my teeth are very sensitive and the cold water would just pain the life out of me.

I have never brushed my teeth in the shower. I do not want to spit in there. I do not know of anyone who does either. I usually brush my teeth with cold water as I do not want my hot water heater to have to work more if it does not have to.

I too have heard of brushing teeth while showering in the army. I dont know about brushing with cold or hot water but I know about many people who put their toothbrushes in hot water during winter to make the bristles of their brushes soft. They do it because their weak gums.

I use hot water - it serves to soften the bristles even more and the softer the better. the hot water also helps in massaging the gingeva to keep them healthy.
I have never brushed in the shower as far as I can recall - though I have at times brushed my childrens' teeth while they were bathing.... the whole "kill two birds with one stone" idea.

I usually just use room temperature water. I rinse my tooth brush right after I turn on the tap, before the water changes temperature.
My teeth are a little sensitive to cold.

Plain water. I have tried to brush my teeth with cold one that comes from refrigerator actually and it is very cold. My gums can chill and it is very hard to gargle because it is cold. I don't know the side effects of it but I think it is not advisable.

I do brushing with warm tap water from faucet.
I did not ever experienced the brushing in shower
and so with the hot and cold water.
In military it is done because they are time conscious
and many rules to follow.
So at home no problems because no one will watching us
and no time limit.

I have a few times when traveling and it does save time ... a one stop cleanup, lol, but it's not what I prefer to do at home.
I prefer warm water over hot or cold brushing teeth. It's better that way if a person has sensitive teeth. You're funny ... you might have too much time on your hands to think of these questions but it's a discussion nevertheless, lol.
You have a great day too.

I brush my teeth with warm water not hot or cold but warm water only. I think my gum will be hurt when we use cold water, what is the value using cold water anyway?
