Hi there! Well, let me just tell you that I have no experience being pregnant but I have sister and friends who have been so I would just like to share with you what healthy foods they have eaten when they got pregnant. I hope this will help. Anyway, as what I have observed when my sister got pregnant, she avoids fatty and fried foods, sauces and hot spices it is because to prevent from nausea and from vomiting. When my friend got pregnant, she eats all variety of foods. she said so that she can get all nutrients needed. She eats foods rich in high fiber like whole-grain breads, cereals, pasta, rice, fruits and vegetables. Well basically, they just eat well-balanced diet. And some exercise too.

Oh I see! I'm sorry about that. But I think don't let her just lay in bed all the time. Make her sit down ones in awhile coz she might have back cramps. I've seen pregnant women in a movie where they are so delicate, all they do is make something for past time. Something that will not exert much effort on her part. I think it is best for her so that she won't feel depress or burden from having a delicate pregnancy. Or else, make her listen to music, watch movies(have a movie marathon with her) or just do something fun with her.

ok got it but i dont think it's right for her to do exercise even walking is not recommended for her since she is very delicate at this early stage she bleeds a lot when she is up so all she do is stay in bed and only stand up if needed. Thats why I have to do the rest of the things needed to be done since his husband is at work.

that is sweet... cooking for your sister. now i'm missing the time that my brother used to live at my apartment before and we take turns cooking. hehe healthy food for your sister of course includes a balanced meal of lean meat, dairy products, fruits and vegetables. aside from the essential vitamins and minerals, preggies need more calcium (for the bones)-1000mg, iron (for the blood)-30mg and folic acid (for better brain development of the child)-0.4mg. good sources of calcium are orange juice and cereals for breakfast; while dark green vegetables like broccoli for either lunch and dinner. green leafy vegetables would be good too as well as red meat, good sources of iron. when cooking sinigang or nilaga, add those greens. salmon and eggs are rich in iron also. folic acid can be found in bananas, oranges and peaches; legumes and nuts; potatoes, cabbage, and asparagus. i think those can be found in our local market so you can develop a menu suitable for your sister's liking and your skill in cooking. as much as possible avoid too much salt and oil. happy cooking!

my mom gave birth to 8 of us and i got 3 other sisters who had children. hehe and my ex-boyfriend is a doctor... so they help broaden my knowledge. if you want to keep it simple, go for steamed vegetables with a hint of garlic and a bit of butter. you can do this with broccoli, asparagus, pechay and kangkong. fish or pork sinigang with lots of kangkong. ginisang (saute) corn or mongo, just add plenty of talbos ng sili (leaves/tops) or malunggay. beef nilaga, just add pechay and potatoes. if you're making a salad or cereals, you can add nuts or almond flakes. eggs, although good and rich with needed nutrients... must not be served more than 3x a week. baked salmon or steamed fish would be good also. ask your sister to avoid salty dips like fish sauces while pregnant.

Foods that are considered healthy for pregnant women are those that are rich in vitamins and minerals for herself and for her baby as well, and foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals are citrus fruits and vegetables. Fiber foods are also recommended to help her defecate easily and to avoid constipation. Fiber can be seen in oatmeals, wheat breads. Your sister must also take foods that are rich in folic acidfor her child's rapid brain development.

Wow that is a good news infact.Congratualtions to her.Well she must take utmost care, but she should also move herself a bit so that at the time of labour she is not suffering excess pain. For eating she shoudl take atmost care, Dint give her too much oily or cheese or butter to eat, it should be given in limited quantities as they are also important. Not too spicy at all.Tell her to take more coconut water and milk that is best for her. Then veggies are best than meat and non veg stuffs.A lot of fruits is best for her even dry fruits should be given in high quantity. She needs digestable things but the one which are high in protiens, calcium, iron and vitamins.

At that time of my pregnancy the first thing to do is to search in the Internet of what tips to do and food to eat. But the most important is to drink vitamins in prescribe by the doctor. And also, every morning I always exercise like walking and swimming. And I always visit to my doctor. And now I am so happy for my healthy kids.

Salads, vegetables, fruits (lots of fruits), and lots of meat. Make sure that she never touches fast food while she is pregnant, my friend and I have a theory that fast food may very well be behind all of the health problems parents and children have today. Anything with chicken and beef is a good thing to have her eat, make sure the chicken is very clean and well cooked. Give her vegetables such as tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, peas, asparagus, broccoli, and colliflower. Apples, pears, peaches, oranges, watermelons, bananas, and lemons are great fruits to use. There are so many things that you can make. Gralic is another things that is great to use, it adds flavor to almost any dish. Be creative.

Fruits, vegetables, not too spicy or salty. Lean meat, dairy products, whole grain foods. Leave off the soda pop, potato chips and french fries. Eat a variety.

Besides fruits and vegetables, I think cereal is good. I've seen my sister eating all these when she was pregnant. Also, she loved potatoes that much. But she loves to boil them. That's funny; she said that was her crave during that time. But now if I shove boiled potatoes to her, she'll probably throw it back at me. How about some dough but putting vegetable meat inside. Anything bread; mix and match with protein, carbohydrate and little bit of fats.

hmmm I wonder why fatty foods is prohibited to pregnant women I guess I ahve to take the two comments I ahve seriously about fatty foods ,,, just that my sister loves fatty food so much and since her doc didnt put her on a diet coz her baby wight less so she is free to eat anything that is healthy. Hmm I will also consider your suggestion got to have lots of variety from now on since I am the cook in charge waaaaaaaa this is such a tiring task and to think I dont love to eat that much but I know how to cook lol

Yup, you are right. A baby is supposed to receive some fats too so that they will be so cute and chubby. I just love the look of a plump and cute baby, feels like gently biting them.. You'll do just fine, my friend. You can also mix and match your dishes. Like you can just cook the rice (fried or white) and buy some gravy outside and boil vegetables. Good luck..

The diet of pregnant women is to eat more vegetables and fruits. Avoid eating big fish because from what I have read big fish sometimes eat mercury. Mercury can affect the baby. I don't know if you have MALUNGGAY in your place I don't know the english translation of it, It is a good source of vitamin C and it is good for pregnant and lactating women.

I'll bet you can get a diet sheet from the doctor. Call the office and ask. I would also try the internet, just search maternity diets. Good luck

food pyramid for pregnant women - a help to making future menus for pregnant women. it is not actually eating for two (amount) that pregnant women and those who take care of them should be concerned about. it is actually educating the pregnant woman and those who take care of her what to eat. a lot of complications happen because of a lot of unnecessary weight gain during pregnancy.
hello. it really is nice of you to ask since you are very much concerned towards the future addition to your family. here is a sample menu: For breakfast: 5 slices bread 1 piece of orange 1 glass of milk Morning Snack: Boiled Saba (banana) 1 glass of pineapple juice For Lunch: 1 cup of rice mix vegetables fish like bangus 1 slice of papaya 1 glass of milk Merienda: Sandwich 1 glass of orange juice Dinner: 1 cup of rice munggo with malungay leaves pork adobo ripe banana

If she is in bed, she will need to eat enough fiber for her digestion. That means vegetables, prunes, corn, whole grain bread. A vegetable soup with bits of cooked meat of any kind would be very good. Don´t give her too many fried food or too much fat. Skip the cauyliflower, cucumber and artichoke. Dry beans should be eaten without the skin. Don´t use spices and go light in the salt. I think that´s about it.

There are graphs on line you could find that will give you the exact amounts of each food group needed during pregnancy. I know at least three servings of milk and calcium is needed. Along with 4-5 fruits and vegies. Since she is on bed rest make sure she gets plenty of fiber and protien. Try to avoid frying food. Pregnant women get heart burn constantly. Also, stay away from any candies or caffiene. It isn't good for the baby.
