Back when I was looking online I "met" a guy and we started talking and after a week found out we lived in the same neighborhood and then I never heard from him again.

Yes! Online is where my hubby and I met and we just had our 3rd wedding anniversary! We are very happy! He found me using yahoo member directory. It was funny because I was a member of several dating sites and he found me for free! We were married exactly 2 months from the day we met. Here is what I just got done saying in another post that asked if I thought love was overrated: Quite the contrary . . . I feel the term LOVE is just plain underrated. What I feel for my husband and he feels for me is so much more than the mere word, "LOVE" could ever hope to convey . . . I feel like inventing my own word to tell how I feel about my husband. I just can't think of a word that is adequate. There are no words to express the deep feeling of closeness, trust, compatability, happiness, like two halves of a whole, yet, each whole in ourselves and completely comfortable together or apart. I have waited a lifetime to have this. I have kissed a lot of frogs to find my prince charming, but now that I have him, we are happier than we ever imagined we could be. Good luck wiht your online search, don't give up, use yahoo member directory, narrow it to your area, use a keyword that is important to you.

I am happy for you. For me I just can't see going through all the looking and then being dumped the minute I think I am starting to develop feelings for the guy. I don't see the point in hurting myself anymore.

I have tried to find love on line, but it cannot work, because most of your time is not face-to-face discussion, so it's hard to see how much charm from your companion, how is his or her voice. The different culture is also one barrier
