Hey guys, I am having a hard time lately to pull myself away from the computer. It's quite worrying because its affecting my other hobbies like reading and writing and especially my alone time with my boyfriend. I am not very good at time management and I couldn't draw the lines between internet priorities and personal priorities.
How about you guys? Do you have a definite time when you just sit down and do your internet work undisturbed? Or do you do it everytime, just going back and forth in the internet? How much time do you spend in front of your computer?
I have a full time job and school and my internet surfing is quite affecting these as well. Please let me know how you manage your internet/computer time,.

I use to spend the whole day on internet(10-12 hours), but then it got old and I would only check my emails and some days not even turn on computer. Now that I'm unemployed I'm back on internet a good 8 hours on and off all day doing work at home jobs and looking for work I even play online games in hopes to win some cash lol.

hahaha hi naprah, i also get that episodes. at first it was very exciting to try out these stuffs but after you get the hang of it, you get bored instead of getting more excited. I started with a lot of other sites before but when I dont get the results that I wanted, i lose the mood for it. i hope ill be able to keep up with my mood here in mylot. Its so cool, like a big chatroom where you get to talk with a lot of people and get paid for it hahaha.

Hello pinaydutchland!
I spend a lot of time on the internet. It's something I do on a daily basis. I depend on the internet to enhance my lectures. I also depend on the internet to communicate with friends and relatives who are based abroad. Sometimes I spend an hour or two. Sometimes, more than that. Sometimes, on hours end...

If you ever get a handle on it tell me how! Haha, I do have a rather good excuse for being on so much. I need to make some money for all the stuff I have to do! Full time jobs are not coming along so well for me and so I have to do what I can to make a little money. But, I do notice that I spend a little too much time on here anyhow. I may make a little money, but I'd rather spend not as much time on here and make a little more money than I am now. So, yep, you come up with any good tips let me know!

It depends on the day of the week and what else is going on. I am sure I spend at least 6 hours a day total on average, but I also work on line so I am actually working a lot of the time I am on line, so I don't know if that counts. But I am on the computer a lot, on days when I go out and run errands I wish that I was back on my computer.

I used to spend a lot of time on the computer. It was the one thing that I would do because I didn't have anything else to do. Once I started working it changed that. Now though I don't have a job and spend my time online, but I also am really tired of being online all the time so I don't use the computer as often as I used to. I am going to be going to school to further my education and chances of getting another job, and even then I will be on the computer but on it to further my education. I know that this doesn't really help you, but I know that it will me to stop being on the computer, lol, because I'll have something to do.
For you I suggest trying to limit your time by setting a timer by the computer and putting it for maybe an hour at the most of computer usage. Of course this is easier said then done, but I hope my advice and suggestion has been helpful to you. Have a wonderful day.

I spend time with my family. But I do work a ton online. Mostly when my husband is at work I work on line. But when he gets home me and my daughter and my husband like to play on the Wii together. Its nice family time. I would spend night and day on my computer working until I decided enough was enough. When my family gets home they have my time.

Hi
Actually, for me, the amount of time I spend on internet depends on the purpose.
Basically, if I wanna use fb, it will take a longer time.
And the same goes when I wanna update my blog or read some one else's blog
Furthermore, I would spend more time on reading articles especially about Islam

Hi! I find myself spending more time than I'd like on the computer. But I do MyLot, and several paying sites, like GPT's. If they have a lot of good offers I like to sit down and do them so I get credited right away! Sometimes I just like to play games, and they get addictive. I used to spend hours reading, and now it's been cut down a lot, but I still find time to do it. I'm not working right now, so I do have more time...but when I get the part-time job I want, my computer time will have to slow down. Take care!

Maybe about 6 hours daily. It varies and usually my friends will get me off the computer with some kind of activity (like starcraft or D&D). My ex used to complain but she'd be on her computer even when I got home from work. There was a bit of a double standard there.

I spend about five hours a day. Sometimes I think it's too much, but the internet is where I go to check out the news sites and for other information. If it's addictive, well, I can think of worse addictions. I find it more stimulating than television, and I like the interactive nature of a lot of the sites. Like myLot.

I spend a lot of time on the internet. I don't know why but I just simply so.
I am a full-time student and a part time worker and I'm always on the internet. At home or at work. So I just can't seem to escape from it. It is mainly my escape goat, my vice, and also my leisure.
I can't find about anything on the internet. Especially information, now relevant content is harder to find but you'll eventually find it if you keep trying.
But to be honest, I don't know why I'm on the internet/computer time so much. But if I was to give a number figure of how long i'm online for I would say about 8 hours like a full-time job. =)
Best of wishes to you.

I know what you mean about finding it hard to pull myself away from the computer. But I know do it. I discipline myself to a set amount of time. Two hours. I will then take a break and do other things that need doing, and then if (and only if) I have other computer work to do, will I come back to it. If I know I have answered all e-mails tended to myLot and other programs, I will not be back on-line until the next day. We need variation in our lives, I believe. Without it, we can become stressed and unhealthy. - Derek

I spend an unbelievable amount of time online since this is basically what I do to earn some money while I'm still stuck job hunting. I blog hop, I write responses and try to start discussions here, I go through my Facebook account, check my mails and search for jobs online. Real jobs. So I stay online for more than 12 hours. Crazy I know.

I think I can't live without Internet anymore. And it's part of my work, building internet applications so virtually i'm almost 24x4 online. I'm in front of my computer and laptop for a minimum of 16 hours per day. I also have 2 DSL connections at home and 2 broadband also in our office.

I'm a free bird now; and will be so for at least a year now. I've just recently wound up my last semester at college. (hopefully!) Therefore, my PC is on from dawn to dusk! I just can't keep myself away from the screen these days, even if it ain't for any reason. That's why a few months ago I opted for a slower but unlimited download internet connection.
About drawing the lines between priorities, I'm honestly in shatters with it. In fact, we had our exams at 2.30 in the afternoon and the silly me would get in front of the monitor in the morning too, at least two hours. Needless to say, it has ruined me lol! But precisely, there ain't any definite time for me to get online. I try my best to be there as much as I can. Hence, I've cut down on many important facets of life but I reckon that's inevitable!
