You can't teach an old dog new tricks?

Have you ever heard of this saying? If so, do you believe it? I don't believe it but what does everyone else feel?

We adopted a 5 year old black lab, I was able to teach him new tricks also. So, yes, I would have to agree with you to disagree on that statement.

Well, it means that people are engrained in their habits, usually bad habits, such as a cheater will always cheat, and so on. I think its an individual thing, some people are open to change, some are not.

This phrase was meant as a figure of speech but I agree that it is, ultimately, an individual choice of whether to change or not to change.

Yes, it does mean that people are stuck in their old habits. Some can learn to do things differently and some will continue to do the same things. It all depends on the other person if they want to learn something new or not. i agree with you. Thank you. :-)
