Well i have been thinking.. What separates me from the trillions of people living in this hell hole we call Earth. Are you really "One of a Kind" or are you just another lump of flesh?? Well i have thought a lot and i guess besides my appearance and my fingerprints i really am not that unique. So tell me Mylotters, Are You Unique and if so then How?

You cannot say each person will have a different view point. It is true that not all will have the same view point but many people can have the same opinion on a subject

ROFLMAO. I'm just another lump of flesh (I love that saying, btw), sucking up precious oxygen and leaving a carbon footprint. Aren't we all? Every day I see someone who thinks they're just so precious because they've dyed their hair black, blue or orange...just like everybody else.
It amazes me to no end when you'll be speaking to someone you've just met and they're stunned at how much you have in common...well duh.

I always say that no two people are completely different. They will always have something that they have in common. That is the beauty of being human. Thanks for the response

Great topic and interesting responses too!
We all start out the same when we are born, just like new cars when they come out of a factory shining and brand new. Then as the years pass our eyes see different things, our ears hear different stories and our hands touch different things.
Just like each car travels a different road, each one of us leads our life in a completely different style and with different results depending upon how we react to each obstacle.
This makes each and every one of us unique, including me.

I am an attractive woman, 6'2" tall (which is fairly unique in itself), and I am a herpetologist by training and passion. I have caught many a snake, venomous and nonvenomous, I have also caught hundreds of lizards, frogs, turtles, and salamanders. I have also caught, restrained, tagged and drawn blood from adult alligators.
I've waded through the mangroves of Everglades National Park at 11pm at night, with a headlamp, looking for the eyeshine of baby crocodiles so we could catch and tag them for identification purposes.
And laying belly-down on an airboat at night, catching small alligators by hand was the most fun I've ever had in my life!
So yeah, I'd say I am pretty unique. I have yet to meet someone quite like me!

Ya, i believe everyone in this world is unique. Everyone has his or her own personalities and appearance. Even you can find two persons with the same name, born on same year and same day, and maybe they have a very similar look, but their characteristics may be different too. From the science perspective, we also know that everyone's gene and DNA is different and unique that there cannot be two person with the same DNA in this world.
So, since we're all different and uniquely exist in this world, we should always keep in mind that the other person is not me, he would not have the same thinking as mine too. That is where tolerance comes in, and we should be always open to others' opinion or point of view.

I am intermittently quirky and corny. That could well make me different, if not unique. I am the black sheep in my family and have done stuffs that no one ever had dared to do. I have always lived life on my own terms. May be, I have lost on many occasions but I have survived those and got going.

Yes all the things you said make you different but there is bound to be someone who has all those qualities. Even when you say you have done things others haven't dared to do, probably you are not the first to do it and you won't be the last. But the particular combination of qualities do make you unique

This discussion takes me back to 1966 when I was in London working in the "Hoop & Toy" pub in Kensington. There was a massive hit at the time called Black is Black by a group called Los Bravos - I think. Well, we had a very rare individual customer who always played the reverse side of the hit when he got near the juke box. This song was called "I'm not Like Anyboby Else." There is also a song called "I'm an Individual." So with my love of music, I'd have to say I'm unique, and so are you siddharthjeevan. Do you like my logic?

So what you say is that your taste in music makes you unique. Well that is a good point. Thanks for the response

Actually no. I was just pointing out, that psople have been saying for years that everyone is different, and I happen to agree. I'm sure there are others with the same taste in music as me.

You Indeed Are Unique Because None is Like you Or You are like None, All do what they feel is right. Nobody wants to know what makes Others feel Bad about Him/Her. Most Think They are Better than the Person Next to him. Well The Truth is Nobody Cares About the other........................

Well all the things you say reinforce my point that people aren'y unique. You spoke of a lot of things that almost all the humans have in common. The traits that we share with the entire human kind. That is not wat makes us unique

Each of us is unique, it is not possible for us to be the same. I have had my own experiences and I have seen them from my point of view. If you had exactly the same life as me you would still be unique because you would have been seeing it from you own point of view.

I think that we are all unique. I think that people try so hard to "fit in" sometimes that they forget just how unique they actually are. The thing that seperates us are our experiences, opinions, beliefs, interests, family roots..there are so much that makes us unique. Heads up my friend..there is a lot more to you that makes you unique besides your fingerprints and appearance.

i revel in who i am and do not make apologies for it, i have been told that i am too direct, and my lack of desire to please anyone into liking me is apparently an attractive quality to some. it is like the moment you do not show appropriate interest in some people, they make it their life's work to make you like them. i don't get this, what you see is what you get with me. one of the people that i admire most is pink. she is out there doing her thing and being herself. she said embrace the freak within, i think that this is a great message for the youth and impressionable out there trying to forge their identity. i want to know the real side of people not something someone is showing me to impress me. and friends yeah you are all unique in your own way and whether you know it or not you have helped to change someone's life. you may never know who, but feel secure in this knowledge, we are all unique some are more different and out there than others though.

Yes, I do believe we are each unique. For starters, no one has my exact DNA. No can feel my exact feelings or think my precise thoughts. It's not really looks that set one apart...identical twins for instance. But even they are not carbon copies. Somewhere along the way, they become unique, if in no other way but their particular perspectives and experiences.
A great question, by the way.

I am unique because...I love the polar regions...I have a strange interest in them and I even made up a holiday which is April 13th...Polar Icecap Day! I made it up when I was 15. I think it's kinda depressing to think about being one lump of flesh on earth...I have to admit, I've thought of stuff like that too, but not for long. You gotta love your life, good and bad!! Take care, and try to be happy!

hmmm that is a tough one to comment on a that is an opinion that should be rendered by others and not oneself, or else this would be vanity, yes? i guess others find me to have some different qualities, being unique signifies being completely different from others and being one of a kind. i guess that means technically really we all are, even twins are unique. if you are asking if i have unique traits, again i am quite sure that someone out there shares the same traits as me
i am a sci-fi loving, 5 book at a time reading, knowledge devouring, single black, female goth*according to some people*, heavy metal loving, headbanging, ever evolving, always learning, horror fanatic, gig loving, agnostic, comic book loving, closet conspiracy theorist, futuristic, apocalypse preparing, fiercely independent, shower singer, interpretive dancing, television addicted, fantasy loving, closet forensic pathologist, black and red loving, doting aunt, collaborator, world changing, philosophical, amateur chef, sister and mother and brother loving, fiercely loyal friend, open minded, new rock boots lover, font of sometimes useless knowledge, non validation needing, adaptable, flexible kinda entitiy.
so i guess you tell me :)

yeah it is all about he combinations, we are all unique in our own way, and on a molecular level, we are only the same as we are carbon based life froms that is it. i guess the unique that you are talking about is how different and how much against the grain we go, how far we deviate from the norm, as prescribed by only goodness knows who, who really sets the standard for normalcy. also what is normal for one culture or group of people is found abnormal by others. i guess what i am trying to do here is back up what you are saying and explain for those who don't quite understand what you mean by unique. what is your combination of talents and quirks, i notice that you have not said anything about that. what you may find boring or lacklustre or normal about yourself, someone else might find interesting by comparison.

siddharthjeevan well for starters I do not call this earth a hell hole. it is our home, it is whatever we choose to make it
and I do not think hell enters in. In my 83 years I have been
lately through some disasters but I survived, maybe that does make me unique because I can still laugh and smile, and like being alive. I am homeless in that right now my son and I do not have a house or an apartment but I am living here in this retirement center as its better for my elderly bones than some
park bench. my son is in a gov. sponsored apt with three other me so they can look for work. he is close enough to come see me often and that's very good. no this earth is not a hell hole to me its more of a holy place. You are unique, as you are the only one of you so hold your head up, smile, laugh you are alive darn it so be happy.

I am most certainly a unique person. I feel unique and have been told that I am unique so many times. My main challenge I guess is getting to really understand me and to tap into my wealth of character.
In my opinion no one as fully enjoyed or lived this life until they understand who they truely are what their purpose here is. so far I have lived and enjoyed my life but I am far from realising my ful potential.
