I like to think of myself as a modern forward thinking individual who embraces new technology but I am having difficulty getting use to thE new microsoft word .For one ,it does have a file save as option and all of the other features that came under the File menu .It took me a good while to even see the disk and realise that aht it replaced the File save as option.Maybe all the options taht was under the FILE menus are somewhere else in the software or they have more modern function that can do these and more but i sure miss that file menu.I must have spent the better part of five hours searching for a way to save my file without the File save as option ,instead i had to close it and when it asked me if i wanted to save I would accept it .
Is any one else having the problems that I am having or am I a dinosaur who is stuck in his neanderthal ways or have you been having a whale of time with new word.If you have been having problems with word ,please inform us of teh problem or if there is a workaround. You may even tell us if word is a wonderful creation for you and you dont share my views

I couldn't really appreciate the advantages of most of Microsoft's new products. And furthermore, due to financial crisis I can't afford them. So I have sold all my MS software and now I use without any payment OPEN OFFICE. And believe me: it's as good as was Microsoft and it doesn't take a long time to understand it. This freeware finally turned out to be more modern forward thinking than following the Redmond Giant's marketing strategies to empty my wallet.

And furthermore: after I became more familiar with these open source softwares I sometimes suspect that MS is copying their ideas and features.

At first I was annoyed, but I got the hang of it and found all the tools that I needed. Then I realized that it was better than Office 2003. Then since I like it so much, I got it upgraded to Office 2010, which is much like 2007 but even better. Just it often til you get the hang of it, then I hope that you find that it is a good version for the Office program. Cheers!

Hello my friend ronnyb Ji,
For getting annoyed , I need not have reason as yours. But why, I will take help from 'help' menu, or even control-C. Even, if one closes the file, one is asked, if one is interested to save changes made so far. Is everything missing there. Please contact microsoft. May God bless You and have a great time.

I don't think there was any point making 2007 it is just 2003 but fancied up and maybe a couple of near useless features added. All I have noticed is that the set font is different, all the options are under a button in the file menu and it generally looks abit more neat and well designed than the older version. But why pay all that extra for that and not just let people download it for free from the Microsoft website? .....

At first, i was also annoyed and prefer to use Microsoft XP... but later on, i got used to it and found it really better than the XP... just use it often and experiment on the things that the Microsoft 2007 can do... you will later on love it.

At first I was having some problems because I'm used to the "old" interface, but then I got the hang of it and I realized there are lots of features that weren't in older versions. All in all I really like the new Word. Maybe you should just spend some time playing around with it, that might help you get used to it.
