I know mainly discussions are posted regarding the performance of players but i would like to share something that happened at the toss. Dhoni won the toss and he said to greg chappek he would like to chase considering the composition of the team. Collingwood maybe did not understand quickly as dhoni did not say directly if he would bowl or bat. So collingwood says to greg chappel that dhoni has not told them what england are going to do first. Then greg chappel tells him dhoni has decided to chase and that is when collingwood understood. What do you think of this situation? Being an englishman did he find it difficult to understand in the first place.

I dont think there a problem with Collingwood understanding English. Even though he would have been standing close to the Dhoni, it would have been difficult to hear the words that he spoke due to the crowd nosie. I dont think its a big issue. It also happened once in last years series in Australia. I think it was the first match and Ponting said he couldnt really hear what Dhoni decided to do due to the noise.

due to the noise of the crowd or the general slang of the asians makes it difficult for the englishmen to understand

It wasn't the easiest conversation to understand and would say that traditionally the winning captain says that they are either going to bat and bowl, and these would be the specific words that Collingwood would be listening out for. Collingwood would probably have absolutely no interest in the rest of the conversation that Dhoni was having with Greg Chapple.
