Just read a news article. City of L.A. is considering NOT picking up the tab to stage a victory parade if the Lakers come home with the championship. What do you think? City is citing tough economic times as the reason.

Oh brother! If the city of Los Angeles can't afford the parade there are options! 1.Don't have a parade 2. Have the Lakers Jerry Buss pay for it!! 3. If those spoiled brats,the Lakers, want a parade,they should pay for it! They have the money and probaly have enough to get California out of debit! So give me a break! How stupid can you can get? Alot!

I agree! Let the Laker players walk and hold the trophy! I would love to see the team stand up but I beat then won't! There will be no parade or the city or state will find a way to pay for it!

Here's why the City should pick up the tab;
1) Laker games generate A LOT of revenue for the City - why did you think they built the Nokia Center next to Staples? Why do you think it's so "posh" in that area of the City- walk a couple of blocks in any direction, and you'll see it ain't even close to that kind of posh.
2) Laker games generate jobs for the City - no one has to "man" ticket booths and all that at Staples. They also don't need consistent security guards in that area - no one will be there.
3) Visitor athletes pay those posh hotels which pay the City - and sometimes, they bring their star friends along with them.
Here's why the Laker organization (and I honestly think they picked up the tab on this one) should pick it up;
1) MADDDDD props to the fans - especially to those who watched from the bleeders, and on national TV. There are 15 in the Laker team - the average cost of the parade is 1 mill - 1 mil/15 players - 67K per player. Kobe should pick up the slack for the others since he's the highest paid in the team. Or they can just do 50K per player and ask the Buss family to pick up whatever is left. A lot of fans who cannot afford going to Staples are looking forward to this - they shouldn't let them down. Especially in this tough time. I wish I could be there - but I gotta work. I'll be watching from national TV - and will mos def watch at Staples next season. RIGHT BEHIND Jack! =P
Here is why you shouldn't blame the Lakers for California's debt;
1) They didn't ask the Governator to spend all kinds of money to "build" California's infrastructure (and I honestly, I don't see THAT much change in California's infrastructure).
You don't know California - nor the Lakers Nation, so don't go around calling names. Don't hate the players, hate the game. SUCKKKERRR!!
We THE CHAMPS - again! =P
