Have you ever wanted to be hypnotized? I know I have I think it would be so awsome.I have seen it done to my friend it was so cool. She got picked from the aduience. They had her dancing, singing, saying crazy stuff and had her believe she was an olympic meadalist. She told me everything the hypnotist said sounded like a good idea. It was so great. I know she was not acting. If they can make people do all those types of things I can only imagine the possibilities it could do for people in a positive way. I have heard people use hypnosis to quit smoking, lose weight, help with self esteem and everyday issues. I wished I was one of the crowd to go on stage it would have been an awsome experience. My sister thinks it's the devil but I honestly don't think so. If used the right way could be great for a person. If you don't know what hypnosis is it is a mental state of mind where hypnotic suggestions are told to the brain. In which the brain reacts to this suggestions in a form of an action. Although some people are not able to be hypnotized because of lack of consentration and others are easily hypnotized it really just depends.

I have been a practicing hypnotherapist for 18 years...I had to reply to this, especially the part about the devil and some of the responses...
First, hypnosis stage shows are really great and alot of fun. You have taken from it what I believe is the right information. The problem with these shows is that they scare people because it appears that the hypnotist is really 'controlling' the subjects, while saying that they aren't. What needs to be understood about hypnosis shows is that although they are real, it is entertainment. These hypnotists are the absolute best at picking the right people for the show. I am a hypnotist, and I ALWAYS get sent back to my seat when I volunteer for a show...because they can tell through a few simple tests, who will cooperate and who won't.
OK, now about the 'devil' thing... GOD GAVE US A BRAIN, and I believe it was intended to be utilized to the best of our ability. Hypnosis is NOT mind control. YOU ALWAYS have control, even if you are not fully conscious. The unconscious, or subconscious mind is always aware during hypnosis and will not allow a suggestion is that is outside of your personality, or moral boundaries.
Hypnosis is just a word for a state of mind that we go through many times a day. Just before falling asleep, you pass through the state of mind that we call hypnosis. When we are 'spaced out,' we are in a hypnotic state and highly suggestible. When we are driving and in deep thought and on 'auto-pilot,' we are in a hypnotic state.
Hypnosis is a deeply relaxed state of mind and body, the conscious mind is distracted, and suggestions can get past the conscious, reasoning mind, where they are simply accepted or rejected by the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind does not reason...does not say 'yes, because,' or no, because...' It will simply reject anything objectionable or against your morals or values...and accept those suggestions that you would want to agree with. It is simply a way to get past the conscious, reasoning mind that will reject anything that doesn't seem true.
For example, if you are overweight and always have been, and I tell you that you are naturally thin and are getting closer to your goal everyday, your conscious mind would disagree and the suggestion cannot get past. In a hypnotic state in which the conscious mind is distracted, your unconscious mind will accept the suggestion because it does not reason and doesn't know the difference between 'reality' and 'fantasy,' It will then take that suggestion and plant it like a seed in a garden where it starts to grow and then begins to direct you toward that goal to make it true.
Most people are able to be hypnotized, and it is a wonderful tool for self improvement. I have no idea what this has to do with the devil... It simply cannot make you do anything you don't want to do or would not do. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable with the hypnotist and really want whatever it is that you are being hypnotized for, as hypnosis does not work with your will (contrary to what I hear often), but rather with your imagination...with is linked to the subconscious. Nobody can alter your will, which is why I said you need to want what you are being hypnotized for... If your doctor wants you to quit smoking, but you don't, hypnosis can't make you want it, so it wont be as effective. If YOU want to quit, hypnosis is very effective. I hope this was helpful :)
