I love reading very much. But recently, I find I hardly have no time to do some reading. Three years ago, I got married. And after one year, my daughter was born. From then on, almost all my time has been occupied by her. I have to spend all my time in looking after my baby. Now my baby is 16 months old. I hope I can have some leisure time to read some books that interests me. 'cause reading can enlarge my knowledge and make myself intelligent.

Hi fancypiggy, even with a newborn i still took 'me time' to read, i found that I could do it whilst I fed him. He was always surrounded by books and I read to him, by the age of three he was reading well himself as he'd seen that reading was normal and what people did, so we could sit and both read separately at the same time. In the same way he saw me always take a book to bed and he did and does the same every night. I couldn't imagine a world without reading and am shocked if I go to someones house and they don't have books piled around everywhere. I hope you get chance to start reading again soon and also instill the ame love of books into your daughter.

i love reading books as well but like you when i had kids, i cannot find the time to read as much as i want to..too many chores, kids first, then take care of things at home and career..so i barely get the time to do so lately.

I can understand that after marriage and especially a child, your spare time will be less and less. So I can't spend all my spare time in reading, too. I will read it a few when I have time. Now I have a new idea. I listen to the e-books on my way to work. My cellphone has such kind of feature and that's so nice. At least I don't have to waste the time on the way:)

i used to read a lot until i became busy at work, esp. at making money online. i wish i could read more books becoz my small cabinet is now full of books (hard copy) and my hard drive has a lot of e-books already.reading is a worthwhile activity. i would have wanted to read as many books as i can but i just don't have the time to do so.its true when they say that there's a lot of things to do, but so little time.

Frankly speaking reading is always my lowest priority after work and online, however, i did read everyday on my way to work (in the train). The duration is not too long, which is like only half an hour everyday.

I have recently been reading less and less. Doing a degree doesn't help. You have no time for reading. But now its the summer, I plan to read loads and catch up on everything. On my list is 'The Murder Room', '1984', 'The Shakespeare Secret', 'Angels and Demons' and all of the Harry Potter books. I look forward to a very relaxing few months

I read books as often as I can, but sometimes I really don't have the time.

That's been how it's been for me lately...I've been so busy with the plants and the whole business of farming (which's been a bit of a struggle this year), being an activist blogger when there's not alot of time on...and mylot, and the other demands on my time...that by the end of the day I can't keep my eyes open long enough to form a single sentance in my own writing, let alone comprehend something from a book.
Hopefully, as the summer continues I'll find more time for reading AND writing. It's just that things are a little hectic right now, as it's the beginning of summer and all.

I am addicted to reading. I have found, like you, that I don't have time for it like I once did. I have a 17-month-old and a 12-week-old. I have had to get creative. I read in the bath. I read when they are both napping. I read when I take the older kids to the doctor, dentist, or anywhere else that we will have to sit and wait. It's not as much as I would like, but it is definitely better than not being able to read at all.

Hey fancypiggy!
So I totally understand what you are saying! It's not the same, but since I went to college I have so little time to read anything that is not class related...
I used to devour books, reading at least one a month... now I've been reading Lolita, by Vladimir Nabokov for about 4 months, and i'm not even half through it...

I love to read...and use to go thru 1 book in 2 days, depending on the book. However, why don't I read so much, now? Because I am on this darn computer!...lol

For myself, not in a long time. But I read daily to my kids. So I guess we are in the same boat. Now my daughter is starting to read to me. My son is only 6 months old. so trying to get sleep takes up any free quiet time I might have. Which isn't very much.

I read books whenever i can and i always get a series of book beforehand so i will never run out of materials to read whenever i am bored.Reading has been a hobby since i was 5 years old and i seriously cant abandon books for not more than a day.Make it a paragraph a day that will be sufficient to keep me alive as compared to none a day.Reading during my free time can result in starting early in the morning and end late night without eating no bathing at all..that is how engrossed i become when i am reading...
