So do you believe in the saying " you cannot have the best of both world?

i was reading a work, its inspirational and self help book also and it said you can have everything you wish for and you will have it. it is just a matter of really wanting it. But then i remember this saying you cannot best of both world. sometimes this is true, sometimes its not. Sometimes people have the best of both world, some are not. So guys what can you say about it?
