Does the awareness of a kids commercial go up if it has animated characters?

Hi, Need your valuable opinion - I'm trying to understand the psyche of 7 to 10 year olds... Would like to know what kind of commercials attract kids bet the age of 7 - 10 years. For example if I was advertising a kids product, like chocolates or shoes, what type of advertising would appeal to them. 1) An ad with animated cartoon characters in it. 2) An ad with real kids / people in it. 3) An ad with a famous character in it. Like Mr. Bean or Superman. Would be great if you could write me an in depth reasoning for your answer. Thanks a ton :)
