First things first! Make sure you have enough RAM! Right click My computer and click properties. Out from "Computer:"it will give you your system information! Insure that you have at least 512MB if using Windows XP and 1GB if using Windows Vista. Next you can make your computer work better by disabling startup items. Click start, run, and then type msconfig. Then a window should popup! Click the startup tab, uncheck all the unwanted startup items, and restart your computer. If you have undesired results you can re-enable startup items and try different combinations to see what works.
