Test cricket is the ultimate test, that is why it is called test cricket.
20 - 20 is a game for the TV addicts who have short attention span. It was also invented to entertain and make money (mainly from TV rights and sponsors). ODI cricket is also a game for sponsors and TV rights.
Don't get me wrong, these short forms of the game have created a lot of interest in the game which is a good thing.
Test cricket remains at the pinnacle of cricket because of it's absolute test of skills, fitness (physical and mental), abilities and stamina. It is a tactical game which plays itself out over 5 days. I think there is nothing more fascinating than watching a test match between two good teams unfold.
Having said that, I suppose one needs to have a good understanding of the game to appreciate the longer version.

test cricket has been and will be the best for of the game. it is the real test of of all the skills a player possesses. it tests not only physical but mental strength. so many attributes like discipline , patience , hard work, endurance are required in a test match. that is the best form and the best players succeed in test cricket. so i do not think there can be any other form which can be said as the best other than test cricket. t20 provides entertainment but does not test all the skils of a cricket player. it is a short game and will make the game more global but stil test cricket is the best according to me.

for spectators,yes.t20 is the most entertaining and it only takes 3 hours.but cricket was never meant to be smash bang bang.to test the players' skill i think that by far the test format is the best.thats the way it was intended to be ,and thats the way it is
