I use both system.
Windows is for gamming and Linux is for hard and fast task.
you should try with Linux sometime; its free and run amazing. You could get a booteble disc and run from your cd without install it in your Pc. If you have installed any version of windows in your Pc, try with Ubuntu...I really recomend you.

I use both Windows and Linux, Windows for Gaming and for few simple software and Linux mainly for programming...
currently am searching for Linux OS which is compact but still has necessary compilers for Python, Perl scripting,Java and gcc..
It depends on the GUI of the OS which mostly attracts the users, Windows OS is no doubt the most user friendly OS in existence and now a days even Linux is trying to reach that user friendly interface..
Ubuntu would be one of those Linux which is comparably user friendly..
there might be plenty of them out there..

I use both such as Linux is really smart and useful as os for your computer considering the security an also really stable so it won't happen as in windows one when the os frequently crash or stopped for some reason!!Surely on Linux you must work a bit more than windows such as here you have an level of personalization and even the first time you will install on your computer you must work on a little bit to adapt it to your needs an so in this case many people loose their mind and like more switch on the windows!!
Windows is a good os but as many users can know is not as useful if we consider many things ..in fact it is normal watch your os crash or stop and in some cases are rally low interecting with the user interface!!The good point here is that this is an os really user-friendly all the people, even that one knwo a little it about software and os,can start with windows easely and so even the user interface will give you all the possibilities!!Windows is not so safe a security in fact the majority of virusus, malaware, treats and so on are written specifically for this os and so it is easy to have some infection sometimes..for this reason you should to upload and upedate many software security to protect your pc..
So in conclusion it depends..surely Linux is good but may be you need a bit more patience when you start but when you learnt it a bit you don't want turn back to another os..windows normally you will find on your computer ready to start and have some problems also linked to velocity and security..

I use windows and I always have used windows because I think it's really easy and user friendly. Linux is ok, but I don't really like it. Getting used to all the commands and the screens and how everything is so utterly different takes time. It took me a whole semester to get used to linux and even my second semester of using it I was still finding out new things that I didn't know how to do yet!
