Laker Fans Riot in Streets of Los Angeles

Didn't this happen the last time the Lakers won the chapionship? I don't understand why people have to turn into complete lunatics because their team won. It's not the Lakers won for the people of Los Angeles; Kobe and Phil won for their own personal glory (but that's another discussion). What do you think about fans rioting in the streets? Was anyone there?

I can't understand the riot mentallity at all. It seems pretty stupid to me. I always feel sorry for the shop keepers when stupid stuff like this happens. I think it only makes the fans look stupid and serves no purpose.

Yeah, you should see the pics, if you haven't already. Ridiculous. But I'm wondering if this is just an LA thing, because I don't recall any riots in Pittsburgh when the Penguins won the Stanley Cup.

Hey there! I don't understand it either. I guess the people just needed an excuse to act like a bunch of lunatics. I don't think the riots are justifiable. So their home team won the championship, good for them. That doesn't give them the right to flip cars and loot stores and run around the streets screaming to the top of their lungs.

It only shows how undisciplined the people were. You can celebrate without damaging other people's lives or properties. In short always be responsible.

I guess it's too much to ask the people of LA to act like they've been there before. The stupid riots are a good example of what the ugly sports fan looks like. It's great that people don't end up mugging other fans when their team loses, like in Soccer in other countries. But this is still pretty sad overall. Why even go outside in the middle of the night and "celebrate" by burning stuff and throwing rock in the first place? At what point did that backwoods type of ritual come about?
