Back when I used to live in Kentucky there would be all kinds of Catscoming to my house and staying there later having kittens! We had at one point 15 cats and now there are only a few left. A lot of the cats died most of them got ran over and others died from causes I couldn't quite figure out. The dead cats would usually go under the ramp in front of the back porch and die there. Some of the cats though we had for years and they would disappear for months and come back on and off. I wonder where they go? They probably go to somebody elses house. Last I heard there is only about 5 or 6 cats over there now... I wonder if the other ones are still alive?

Cats are very prolific breeders. It only takes a male and female cat (un-neutered and unspayed) to make lots and lots of babies and then their babies have babies). Perhaps you were or are too young to understand but the most humane thing is to get the cats fixed before they can produce more unwanted babies. People have to learn that cats have feelings and suffer just like we do. To not take cats to a doctor (vet) and care for their physical health is cruel (not that you were cruel, but you did not know any better). It is best to be educated as much as possible if you have cats hanging around. It is best to be responsible to care for them and help them stop having more and more babies to just get run over by a car. Cats are not things, they are living, breathing creatures. It is sad to allow them to die in such cruel ways. Here in California, we have places to take cats to get them spayed or neutered. They help out with the cost. Hopefully you have that in your area too as I know it can be quite an expense if you have to pay it all yourself. Most important is to be kind enough to them to protect them and help them not to have more and more babies.
